Re: Acne diet?
Dec 13, 2004
Here's a list of food I've formulated from a year of personal experimentation. It works for me, although the list evolves now and then. I put food into three categories, "Safe", "In Moderation", "Limit Greatly", and "Avoid". Like I said, it works for very well me, but you may need to experiment for yourself.

[SAFE LIST] Eat whenever you want:
Note: Eat organic, preservative-free, free-range, wild caught/harvested foods when possible.
Fish
*Salmon, tilapia, orange roughy, trout, bass)
*Avoid high toxin fish like swordfish, bluefish, shark, catfish
Chicken
Turkey
Wild Game Meats
*Venison, pheasant, duck, etc.
Melons (honeydew, cantaloupe)
Watermelon
Strawberries
Cherries
Cranberries
Blueberries
Raspberries/Blackberries
Pears
Peaches
Apricots
Oranges (& other citrus)
Grapefruits
Plums
Apples
Kiwis
Pineapple
Fresh Coconut
Coconut Milk
Leafy vegetables (spring mix best)
Asparagus
Broccoli
Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Zucchini
Peppers
Carrots
Radishes
Green Beans
Onions, Garlic, Ginger, Tumeric
Nuts/seeds
*I’d avoid peanuts, which are not nuts (legumes) and difficult to digest.
Some people have bad reactions to certain nuts, so stop consuming if you do
Avocado
Olive Oil
Canola Oil
Coconut Oil
Flax Oil (don’t cook with)
Herbs (& natural spices)
Herbal Teas w/ no added sugar

In moderation:
Ezekiel Bread (or other live sprouted bread)
*Genesis 1:29 the best kind. If you react unfavorably to this bread, drop it down to the “limit” list. 2-3 slices/ day max
Shrimp
Mangos
Papayas
All natural apple/fruit sauces
Pure Almond Butter (or sunflower seed butter)
Peas
Legumes/beans
Goat milk products
Beets
Squash
Pumpkin
Canned Veggies
Mushrooms (put white mushrooms down on list)
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
Grapeseed Oil
Soybean Oil
Safflower Oil
Unrefined Sea Salt
Eggs (from free range chickens)

Limit Greatly (although avoiding would be even better):
Grapes
Bananas
*Bananas and grapes unfortunately have high glycemic loads, so eat sparingly
100% Fruit Juices (high GL; pineapple, apple, orange, grapefruit the best)
Unsulfured Dried Fruits (drying a fruit increases its GL)
Plantains
Yams
*Prepare with oil, and blended fruits for sweetness
Corn
Dairy
Shellfish
Red Meat/ Pork
Ground beef, chicken, turkey
Brown Rice (outer kernel allows rice to be
digested more slowly than white rice, which has been processed)
Sushi w/ Brown Rice
Canned fruits w/ no added sugar
Canned Meats
Pickles
Low-carb soups (those without noodles, potatoes, or flours)
Soy products (generally not good)
All-natural Humus
Vinegars
Coffee (and other high caffeine sources)
Popcorn
Chocolate with high cocoa/ low sugar content (80% or higher)
Whole Oat products
Other nut butters (ie. Cashew)
Corn Oil
Peanut Oil
Sunflower Oil

Avoid! (sorry):
Bread/Bagels (you can experiment with sprouted bread or pumpernickel)
Pancakes/Waffles
Muffins/Donuts
Cakes/Pies/Cookies
Raisons (very high GL)
Pasta
White Rice (Brown or wild are better alternatives)
Cereal
Pizza
Candy, including most chocolate
Most Vegetable Oils/ Palm Oil/ Butter/ Shortening
Sweetened & Condensed Milk
Sugars (table sugar, corn syrup, honey)
*Any food with corn syrup should be avoided at all costs
Pretzels, potato chips, tortilla chips, rice cakes
Potatoes
Soft drinks
Artificial Fruit Juices
Fried/Breaded foods
Most unnatural salad dressings
Soups w/ noodles or potatoes
Fruits canned in syrup
Artificial Preservatives, Colors, etc.
*Look out for MSG (monosodium glutamate). Stuff will kill ya.
