Re: Taking Accutane
Mar 19, 2005
Hi Everyone! I am starting accutane next week. I am only waiting for my blood work to come back. So far I have stocked up on some lotions for my body and some great moisturizers for my face. I also purchased Burt's Bees Wax Lip balm. Does anyone know of a really good lip balm to use for lip chapping due to accutane? I want to be prepared. Thanks for your help and thank you all for sharing on this board...it makes me feel like I am not alone! you guys ROCK!!!

I have been very lucky. I am on my 5th month of accutane. I have had almost no skin dyness. I am on 60 mg. a day (40 mg. on even, and 80 mg. on odd days). My lipe have not been too dry. Aquaphor and carmex worked very well for me, but carmex is not moisturizing, it just kinda keeps it waxy. as far as moisturizer for my body i used Vaseline Total Moisture. I used very little facial lotion, which was Eucerin Sensitive.

This may be my last month, but i still have a few break out areas, and my need to go 6 months.

Hope everyone is doing great!! Good luck!
Tony :)
