Re: Masturbation
Dec 25, 2004
I did alittle research on this topic.

Masturbating does not cause pimples. Masturbation is a perfectly healthy activity, for girls and guys, for women and men. Some people may worry that masturbation is harmful because they've heard myths or stories — but they are not true. In fact, masturbation is one of the body's most effective ways to relieve stress.

Most guys notice changes in their body, like facial hair growth and ejaculation, between the ages of 10-12. Most often the changes are complete by the age of 20. These changes are a part of puberty.

Puberty is a time when hormones stimulate change in all parts of the body. Both guys' and girls' sweat glands will produce greater amounts of sweat and oil glands will produce greater amounts of oil. As a result, acne — pimples on the face and other parts of the body caused by bacteria and trapped oil — may appear. The hormonal changes of puberty that cause acne also cause a greater interest in sex. At puberty, young men and women begin to have more sexual thoughts. When they touch their sex organs for pleasure — masturbate — they may also have sexual fantasies Masturbation may be a teen's first sexual activity. It is important to remember that although increased masturbation may occur at a time when acne develops, masturbation does not make acne happen.

And remember — there isn't a set amount of time that means a person is masturbating too much. Some people masturbate every day (sometimes more than once) while others do it twice a month. Some people don't masturbate at all. Every person is different.

Hope this information helps!

ACNE FACTS & FALLACIES

ACNE IS NOT CAUSED BY DIRT.
Frequent washing does not improve the condition. In fact frequent washing or use of harsh soaps or keratolytics as they are sold over-the-counter may irritate the skin and limit the effectiveness of topical medications. If you suffer from oily skin, washing once or twice daily with a mild non-drying soap is suggested.

DIET PLAYS NO ROLE IN ACNE.
Even in adolescent populations, medical research shows no evidence for a relationship between acne and diet. However, if you discover a flare-up with a particular type of food, use common sense and limit your intake of that type of food.

THERE IS NO ROLE BETWEEN ACNE AND SEX
There is no correlation between acne and masturbation, sexual activity, or sexually transmitted diseases.

PICKING AT ACNE CAN MAKE THINGS WORSE.
Touching the acne, squeezing it, or wearing athletic gear over it can potentially prolong inflammation and cause excessive scarring.

DON'T APPLY HAIR PRODUCTS TO FACE. A variant of cosmetic acne, known as pomade acne, can occur if greases used to style hair are applied to skin. Pomade acne is almost exclusively seen in African-Americans and are usually seen on the forehead and temporal areas.

MANY SKIN COSMETICS WILL MAKE ACNE WORSE (USE ONLY NONCOMEDOGENIC COSMETICS).
Most cosmetics and moisturizers contain oil and can worsen acne. Be sure to check the label for cosmetics that are particularly labeled noncomedogenic or nonacnegenic. Use the table below as example.

Theres not really any correlation between acne and sex/masturbation. It really is, from a medical standpoint, a condition of the skin. It is then affected by incoming influences. In other words, some people have acne-prone skin with weak follicle walls and overenthusiastic sebaceous glands. Incoming influences that triggers this type of skin would include hormones, cosmetics, thyroid disorders, and things of that nature. Not because you havent ejaculated in a week or month. Thats probably a big case of coincidence. And Even though you might be acne prone, there are ways to stop the breakouts from happening by learning what your triggers are. If you havent been sleeping and are stressed out, hormones are released ( I believe cortisol?) and therefore, you break out. If you wear oily, heavy foundations..your pores cant breathe, get clogged and zits form. Sex/Masturbation deals with hormones but moreso of how productive your sex drive is, rather than how your skin reacts to your sex drive...Although in some people, they might just have too much testosterone.. Who knows?!
