I have extremely oily skin, large pores, blackheads, sensitive skin, and a few breakouts here and there. I used Retin-A in a bottle which I swabbed on with a cotton ball. I used it for over a year one time and then tried it again a couple of years later for several months, all to no avail. Same problems both times--shiny skin, oil, cysts, blackheads, redness, extreme irritation, and burning. I'm curious about this Retin-A micro people are referring to. What is the difference between this and the Retin-A I described?

Thanks for your concern, DeeDee.
I wish I could go back to retin-A :( I loved how it made my skin tone look.
It made me oily and break out though, so now, I'm stuck with tazorac.
Does anyone know why it causes cysts and oily skin?
Btw, I was on it a long time.
I hope one day to be able to use it, b/c I love it.
Guys, I cannot say that Retin A "causes" cysts......they were deep down in there and retin A's job is to expel them all. And as for the shininess....well I don't think I am any shinier "because " of it. I do have shine during the day, but always did anyway.

poreoilyme:
I don't know of a retin A that you put on with a cotton ball....mine has always been a cream or a gel applied at night directly to skin. For those who are seeming oily......you cannot use alot of this stuff. Just a pea size. Retin A makes a huge difference in the overall clarity of your skin.
Good luck to all of you!! :)
