I know alot of you are asking what is Milia...Milia is in the same family as a blackhead, whitehead or just acne in general. It is not so easy to get rid of with over the counter cure alls....You need to go to a dermatologist. Please do not play doctor with yourself or anyone. You are not doing yourself a service.

Milia should not be squeezed. It will either eventually surface and extract on its own or you can have it professionaly extracted by a nurse or dermatologist.

Milia are tiny white bumps or pimples. They occur when dead, normally sloughed-off skin becomes trapped in small pockets at the surface of the skin or mouth. Milia can appear as white bumps that look like white heads or pustules, most commonly across the upper cheeks, nose, and chin. They are also commonly seen on the faces of adults by the eye area or in areas of trauma or inflammation. This includes microdermabrasion and chemical skin peels. Yes this can be trama to the skin.

Glycolics can be used to remove surface layers of dead skin which may help..But always see your dermatologist first. You could have a bad reaction to products out there! I mean BAD! The FDA does not approve everything that is sold on the internet. And just because you read great reviews on these websites means nothing to you. Your skin is not the same as the next person.

You have also asked when will it go away?
In adults, milia may persist indefinitely. Unfortunately, you have no control over this.

In adults, milia can usually be removed without scarring. Unless you choose to take it on yourself! There is no guarantee you will not damage your skin.

I hope this answers some questions...I know we all look for a cure for acne bumps lumps...

You can change your skin condition like a breakout, flaky skin, overstimulated skin...You cannot however change your type of skin. NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY. If you are oily you will always be oily(but you can regulate the amount of oil produced. If you are dry you will always be dry, if you have combination will have this forever. It is what you are made of. But you can regulate it. So that it does not become a bad condition.

Remember you can regulate your skin condition....Dryer skin can be balanced, oily skin can be controled, combo can be regulated. But overstimulation can cause damage....BIGTIME. all because you did not get the right advice for you!

I wish you all good luck with this. Please be careful! It's not worth it. These boards are meant to share experiences and thoughts and some good suggestions. It does not mean you should follow all that you read or see..... :)
