Hi all,

I'm a 20 year old male, with moderate acne. I've been on 100mg minocycline 2x a day for over 3 months, and while I don't get nearly as many large cysts as I was before I started the mino, the overall state of my acne has gotten worse, especially on my cheeks. More smaller pimples. One of my biggest problems, I think, is that whenever I try a new topical, I'll use it for a few days and either 1) My skin starts getting really dry and I get angry and stop using it altogether, and/or 2) My face breaks out worse than it was before. Then I stop using 1 thing and go buy something else, and the same thing happens. I think I might be putting my face through so much stress that my acne is getting worse. Face washes just don't seem to work for me, much too drying. Differin was as well. Now I've been using Oxy pads w/0.5% salicylic acid for a few nights. I also have some Vita-K solution for blotchy skin and Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, I never use both at the same time, but when I use one of them (not really consistently), I notice that it just keeps in my face for a long time, even after washing multiple times and shaving. Is this normal? I've never used a moisturizure regularly before.

Also, another weird thing, is that I've been eating more healthy than ever over the last 2 months - very little sugar, no processed foods, little grease, no alcohol, no real salty foods (eg. chips), and no pop. And my acne has gotten worse over this time!? I'm going to continue eating well, because I know it's good for my body overall.

So, I've read a lot of good things about B5. Would you recommend it to me? I would much rather take something like B5 than have to put tons of topicals on. I have heard that if you take too much, there can be possible side effects. How much should I take? I really don't want to risk anything, so, I've read some people take 4x500mg a day? Would that be ok? Just looking for advice, thanks a lot.

PS - If I started B5, should I stop the minocycline?
