My face was breaking out more than usual this winter (still mild though). There was a lot of stress at work and I was blowing off working out. So, I decided to start weight training and started drinking whey protein shakes
1-2 times a day. I figured my acne was from the stress, winter, and lack of working out. Oh my god! My face was terrible. It was the worse case of acne that I can remember having. I would say I got to the moderate level for the first time in my life! I still have marks from it, but they are going away due to a retinol (green cream) that I started.(Nothing that my derm did for me helped) Now I use egg white protein powder and mix it with soy milk. It is a lot more expensive than the whey so I don't drink it as much, but no additional breakouts. I will never drink whey protein again. I won't even buy balance bars anymore, because there is a lot of whey in them as well.
