Hi guys..i have to be careful with what i say or this thread may be removed.

It has been a while.
I am so pleased that this post is still (relatively) alive.
I have read everything since i was 'removed from the site' and it seems that the theory is still building.

I didnt vanish into thin air voluntarily, i answered a question regarding how to purchase perilla and without thinking i put a website down i found on a search engine which was wrong on my part. I also reposted some OF MY OWN previous posts to clarify a point and was accused of pasting previous posts!!...

OK..so i thought i wouldnt simply re-sign up but discuss this mis-understanding with the nice people at this site..who responded by banning every IP address from EVERY computer i had ever used to access the site!! so it has taken a while to find another one...

oh-well by-gones

However...things i now know to affect acne..

once you manage to re-align the rather complex immune imbalance that can manifest itself as acne by controlling all the factors (as summarized brilliantly by smite in my absence)....you will find that your acne becomes MUCH more predictable (as sweetjade has always said but now i know for myself)...

SOME OTHER POINTS TO CLARIFY...

it is important not to rely on one aspect (such as ranitidine) because it is not just histadelia that contributes to the imbalance.
Insulin Resistance is equally important..hence the diet (that isnt actually hard at all to do, especially once your addiction to processed carbohydrates goes)

Firstly i would like to clear up the problem of anti-histamines vs ranitidine.. ranitidine works to block H2 receptors in the stomach (not important here) and on certain IMMUNE CELLS..these cells are OVER-STIMULATED in various circumstances (including high histamine levels) thus ranitidine PREVENTS this over-stimulation and helps to (temporarily) re-address the balance..ranitidine is useful when you are starting out with the diet and the other long term supplements (SAMe and\or perilla) or when you have a bad break-out...ranitidine takes a week or two to work at 75-150mg per day i recommend cycling its use.. and not using it continuously...

anti-histamines are H1 blockers which block H1 receptors on blood vessels, and so dont affect the immune system directly..however gladiator is quite right to suggest that i some people they can help acne..let me explain...acne has two main components..vulgaris and rosacea... vulgaris is what i have and mainly involves sebum, ketatin, inflammation etc..roseacea is due to oversensitive blood vessels which activates the sebaceous glands...some peoples acne will just be vulgaris and some will just be rosacea however some peoples acne will be due to components of both...this latter group will have acne that is also associated with flushing etc, and this flushing is due to excess histamine so in this people H1 blockers probably will help...

THe theory as it stands implies (and EXPLAINS) the benefit of SAM-e and zinc for acne, as well as a low copper intake.

Like smite has said the theory has evolved but i now believe works very well in its current form (which is mainly in my head and scattered around this thread)....

The theory suggests that acne is a MANIFESTATION of a fundamental imbalance at the core of the immune system between two kinds of t-helper cells (which are the master controlers of the immune responce)..this imbalance is caused by many things (please read the whole thread) the main ones include histadelia, insulin resistance, candida, also stress and others...

The main two are histadelia and insulin resistance (IR) in most people..
the IR is caused by hormonal changes at puberty and a western diet...
The histadelia is due to a GENETIC difference in a certain metabolic pathway called RE-METHYLATION...this pathway is VERY underactive in histadelia..this has many effects...

SOME effects include LOW ZINC AND HIGH COPPER levels
others include lower levels of the LIVER ANTI-OXIDANT called glutathione..this means the liver cant deal with toxins so well..

THE MOST IMPORTANT EFFECT OF LOW -METHYLATION is the lack of production of SAMe....SAMe is VITAL in the body it is known as the universal methylating agent....when things are methylated they are changed...HISTAMINE IS DEACTIVATED WHEN IT IS METHYLATED BY SAMe...so a lack of SAMe (in a low methylator like me) will cause high histamine levels....

The histamine will cause many many effects in the body including increased growth of the fingers in the womb, as well as a fast metabolism...(and all the other signs we have mentioned earlier in the thread)..the fast metabolism will burn food more rapidly increasing the toxic load on the liver...etc the histamine will also contribute to the immune imbalance discussed earlier..all of this coupled with IR (especially at puberty on a western diet) will give rise to acne...
