Re: Herbs work

i'm surprised ginseng is on there. are u sure u got the right source for these? Ask every chinese and they will tell u ginseng is for old ppl with no energy. Give it to a teenager and he'll be "over-nourished (not in the sense of vitamins. hard to explain. In chinese terms- alot of heat)." Ginseng is the last thing i would take if i still had acne.

i said it alot of time and i'll say it again on this board. Anything thats bitter is good for ur skin in the LONG term. simple as that. and don't think of putting sugar in ur tea as a short cut like i see so many americans do in chinese buffets. LOL.

it worked wonders for me. not sure if its a placebo effect cause i was preached as a kid that bitter tea is good for the skin. so everytime i drink it, i kinda envision my acne going out or smthg.

all in all, go to ur local chinatown and ask the herbalist for some "cool/cold" herbs to cool urself down. he will not give u a pack of ice or a cold drink, cause he'll know what u're saying. for those who want to take a less harsh-tasting diet, eat honeydew and water melon. one of the most cooling fruits u can eat.

There are many type of Ginseng. American ginseng, which are very popular in Chinese, are commonly taken by young people. Its supposed to help you if you are very stressed out (bad temper) and not having enough sleep. It also helps to 'cool the blood and the body' not in the sense of temperature. Chinese doctor will tell you that acne is cause by the 'heat' and toxin in the digestive system (stomach and intestine) and 'heat' in the lungs. I know because I've talked to some government certified chinese doctors about it.
However, ginseng is supposed to help only.
