Guys, can I please stress that this is a gradual process of improvement. I very much doubt anyone's acne will turn off like a tap overnight and I don't want to get everybody's hopes up. But once you embark on a regimen of digestive cleansing, I believe you will see improvements in your skin and it will contine over the coming months. I myself am 100% clear now and confident to eat what I like without worrying about the effects. But it does take time so please have faith and be patient. In the quantities you buy these supplements, you might as well stay the course. Thank you

Constant, I am glad I have been able to enlighten you to a new avenue to tackling acne. Hopefully you will see improvements in your skin in due course

Anonym0us, perhaps you're right about the dosage, and I'm glad you haven't suffered any ill effects :) And you're probably right about your bodily functions - it's a good sign ;)

serafine, I'm happy to hear that you're on track. And I am also glad that you are willing to make a change in your diet - that will complement the regimen and aid your skin.

midnightdoom1, like you I also had antibiotics after the BP, and I wish I hadn't because after the initial improvement, my acne came back a lot worse with a vengeance :( I don't know why doctors prescribe antibiotics for acne. I wish they would acknowledge that diet is a bigger factor than bacteria. Anyway, I have also taken accutane, and whilst it helped me for a few months, my acne soon came back (not as bad though and my ultra-painful backne never came back :) ). Also, the side-effects were terrible: my ear lobes almost fell off, the corners of my mouth were cut, my hair was brittle and dry and has never returned to normal, my back ached... it's not worth it, believe me. By the wat, do you think your mum started getting acne when she quit smoking because she was eating more (the classic trap)?

Regarding the Activated Charcoal, I wouldn't worry about the dosage difference. And I know this stuff is not cheap but hopefully it will seem like the best $80 you've ever spent in a few months time ;) As I said to Anonym0us, maybe you might consider lowering the dosage. It's up to you. And you should just make sure that you spread it out over the fasting period. Take one dose and allow it to absorb plenty of toxins before taking the next dose at least eight hours later. And if the Psyllium Husks are 500mg like mine then stick to two at a time. Mine actually direct me to take 2 capsules three times a day but I only have four in total. It will save you money! With respect to the BioK+, I would follow their instructions. I hope all that helps!

littledaga, I'm glad to hear that you're already experiencing success with your skin, and I hope that it continues :) I have never tried the light (blue packet instead of red?) version of Yakult. Am I right in thinking it has less sugar? I doubt it will make any difference. I look forward to your update!
ErimusValidus,
Now to answer your other major question. I believe it was something along the idea that if all we need to do is cleanse our toxic systems, why advocate major dietary changes considering how hard it is to do in Western Civilization, right?

Well, knowledge is power. Without proper knowledge one wouldn't know the right way to change their diet, let alone what form of cleansing and detoxification to use. For myself, I had always believed in unconventional or alternative measure of health care, but I never really saw results. I changed my diet a few times. I took some herbs. I even did parasite cleanse (partially) and two liver flushes (2 years apart). Obviously none of my cleansing measures were effective enough, but I never followed through properly. I have my reasons for this such as I was scared to see parasites (most are microscopic), but I'm not anymore so one day I may try it again. ;-) With the liver flushes, usually colonics/enemas have to follow and I don't believe that's a natural thing whatsoever.

Therefore my first attempt at Liver Flushing, the day after (when you expell stones), I actually vomited & nearly passed out and DID pass out later that day (at the mall with friends getting food, lol) but this may have been due to me fasting longer than 24 hours (I don't always eat regulary) or because I was on Spironolactone (can lower blood pressure - may not have stopped it soon enough) at the time or because I used 100% Pink Grapefruit Juice & 100% Apple Juice (not good for Diabetics). So it took awhile for me to realize that I didn't actually follow the procedure properly and that because I'm Insulin Resistant perhaps the apple juice was a bad move. So I tried it again, using pure pink grapefruit throughout, made sure I ate 3 meals the prior day, so that I was fasting only 24 hours, and I hadn't take Spiro in months. Everything went wonderfullly (passed larger and more stones than before), except it took 3 days (including day after fast) before I actually had a bowel movement (constipation?) and so I started breaking out badly but with cysts on my lower chin and underneck.

Now at the time, I assoc. this to possibly doing the liver flush, even though my first flush this didn't happen (thought maybe the spiro and avandia were helping there). I was also aware that this same event of cystic acne developed the year prior and I blammed it on either Cherry consumption or Whey Isolate powder as it stopped when I stopped consuming both of these. So this was around May & June and so I was also concerned that perhaps I was developing a new type of breakout period (gasp, but I thought my diet worked). So I didn't know what to do or think so I just left it alone.

I've been wanting to do another liver flush again, around that same time period (spring is when we should do cleansings) but this year I didn't because I wanted to see if I was truly going through some sort of new breakout period. Of course, I figured I woudn't break out, wasn't 100% certain, because I had already discovered the connection with the prior two years and that type of acne. The connection was Whey powder as I later discovered I can't have dairy products, but dairy doesn't cause underchin acne. So the connection for that type was the cherries the first year (no liver flush), and the tons of plums I was eating AFTER my 2nd flush. LOL, see the following summer, I began to suspect almonds as causing me this type of acne as well.

I had gradually eliminated all nuts from my diet because I suspected them to cause me some type of acne and most of the do, but I never eliminated almonds and actually INCREASED my intake because they were the least problematic among acne sufferers. I went through a period where I broke out with the underchin acne during the Fall & Spring and I couldn't understand it. Then I went through periods where I didn't. I thought about those times in the spring and realized it was after consuming Peaches & Nectarines, so I gave them up and the acne disappeard for awhile. I thought about those times and it was when I wasn't eating Rasiens & Almonds (sorta like a nut & fruit trialmix) because I had ran out. I had remembered that some fruits are related to the fruits I had given up, Peaches, Plums, and Cherries were all related and I had this suspicion that almonds was apart of this group because of the type of acne I was experiencing. I looked it up and sure enough the genus Prunus (Plums, Peaches, Nectarines, Apricots, Cherries, Almonds) contains ALL FOODS I LOVE, and gave me that type of acne. So i stopped the almonds, the acne went away and has never come back. Although after doing so, I developed IBS type sytmptoms again, just as I did when I first changed my diet going Gluten-Free, and that's because Almonds were giving me a nice among of fiber, which I lost. LOL, but as soon as I started consuming brown rice and more vegetables the problem went away.

So all of the above is why I remained so diet focused. Not to mention others that helped me along the way or that somehow I managed to help, never did any detoxes or cleanses (that I'm aware of) and they were 95% - 100% clear, and I was only 99% clear. Every now I then I would reflect back on why this could possibly be: not enough exercise, not enough vegetables, I must have systemic candida and/or a Leaky Gut. As I read more posts and articles on detoxification, food intolerance, Hypersensitivities, and reflected on other members posts, such as Prometheus I realized that some of them were able to eat more foods than I because they had done the cleansings, liver flushes and/or colonics/enemas.

Thanks to recently learning that Insulin Resistance is a Silent Chronic Inflammatory Disease and that acne, another inflammtory "disease", can be labeled as Delayed Type Hypersenstivities to foods, toxins, etc that cross our gut barrier, I began to take more interest in Leaky Gut Syndrome. I always had suspicions but my avoidance of Almonds and assoc. fruits doesn't have anything to do with Insulin Resistance and so I figured it had to to with Leaky Gut (nuts aggrivated a leaky gut). When I purchased a book on Leaky Gut Syndrome (LGS), I discovered all the ways it's possible to develop this condition. I knew of a few, such as antibotics and NSAIDS and stress, but there's quite a few more including CANDIDA and Parasites!

Candida is something that I've suspected I've had ever since I went off of Minocycline (5 years ago) after 3 months, as I broke out WORSE than ever before (despite Spiro and BC) and developed new acne (in various places) and whenever I eat something (suspect too much table sugar as fruits don't do this), that new acne will be triggered to this day! Yes I did some oral and supporsitory Antifungals due to yeast infections, but I don't think it fully went away. I even tried taking Natren Probiotics and PB-8 but these didn't do anything either (wrong type?). So upon researching further about Candida I learned that this can cause various food and chemical sensitivities, possibly because candida is irritating, thus inflamming, thus increasing gut permeability and allowing particles that are normally too large and not fully digested (chew food thoroughly) to enter the blood stream which illicits an immune response...thus one way silent long term inflammation is born. Members have found success in curing candida by following varius types of anti-candida diets, taking kefir as well as taking coconut oil, which also meant they were able to eat certain types of sugary foods again.

Hey All  I have been on holiday but I am back now and ready to answer everyone's questions!

Hello Diggler :) Sorry to take so long to reply. The mucoid plaque (as you rightly call it) that I first passed was approximately 20cm long and darky brown/green in colour with black bits. To me it looked like thick seaweed. I found that I passed smaller ones for up to a month after the first one (which came out after the initial fast). Nowadays my stool often takes on the form of small balls. I don't know if this means there are stones being passed, but it could be an indication.

I felt the benefits of my regimen straight away. Unlike most other unfortunate people here I didn't feel ill from fasting, and when I passed that first mucoid plaque I felt different. It's difficult to describe but I just felt cleaner inside. And then my stool started coming out cleaner in general and I realised that something fundamental had changed. And it wasn't long before I started to see the effects that this change had on my skin.

With regards to my consumption of dairy produce, I eat cheese, cream and derivatives such as milk chocolate. I don't drink milk or have it on cereal though.

Hi citygirl23  I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing sickness. To be honest I haven't experienced a persistent sore throat or lightheadedness whilst on my regimen. That sounds like a common cold more than anything. As I have said to others, even if you have your doubts I implore you to stay the course with this to see what happens in the long run. You might as well stay on the birth control as well. If you have any more questions please ask!

SweetJade1, I have been taking the pills every day at the quantities shown on Page 1. I have been beginning to wonder if it is necessary for me any more. I no longer suffer any kind of spots that I would call "acne". I get the odd tiny pimple but only when I neglect to cleanse and tone my skin properly or if I eat a load of junk food. I don't want my body to get used to the supplements if that means they will become less effective so I might consider lowering the dose or having one week on, one week off. I will have to think about it.

Hey Miranda005  I hope I can help you. I myslef have fairly oily skin. My regimen won't do much to change this. But it will make internal changes that will mean that the excess oil won't be a problem any more. And you'll still have naturally oily skin which won't age as quickly as the drier skin of other people :) Anyway, like you I eat quite regularly and don't put on much weight. I also cite myself as having fast metabolism. Kudos to you for eating sensible foods - it will stand you in good stead for your later years. But it might not necessarily help your skin until you wipe the slate clean i.e. clean out your digestive system.

Lipodec looks like a fairly sensible product, although I think you're probably getting enough of the nutrients found in those ingredients in your diet anyway. Zinc is considered very useful in sustaining healthy skin - you might as well stick with it at that quantity. The B-complex may be not be very useful since it is only B5 (Pantothenic Acid) that is associated with cutting down sebum (oil) production and even then you have to mega dose on it to see noticeable results. I've never heard of it before, but Acuzine looks to me like it's mainly just Vitamin E which is often said to help acne-prone skin. You may just be paying for some glorified Vitamin E but I don't really know.

littledaga and Anonym0us, I'm so happy to hear that you're experiencing success with your skin. Long may it continue  littledaga I'm glad to hear that you're ringing the changes in other areas too. It is important to complement digestive cleansing with a non-burdening diet and regular exercise. I am sure you will experience an increase in energy in response to all of these modifications to your lifestyle. If things keep going well please let everyone else know about it to encourage them to make similar changes! Thank you ;)

Trinity45, I guess if you are sensitive to cleanses then you might want to stick with your existing regimen. But an initial break out is simply that - initial. Once you get through that period you will come out clearer in the long run in my experience. The break out is a sign that toxins are being expelled.

serafine, I'm sorry to hear your story :( I used to suffer eczema as a child and it's horrible and it can be brought on by a multitude of factors (including certain types of washing powder, for instance). I am glad you haven't suffered financially though. I really hope you will soon find an alternative regimen that yields results for you. Dietary changes will go a long way to helping you if you are committed :)

omega47, you can take the Yakult after the fast but it's probably too late to tell you now. Sorry :( Don't worry if you broke your fast early. You should still see some results. There's no rush - if you take the supplements for a while you will pass some mucoid plaque sooner rather than later.

tata77, I'm sorry to hear that you missed dinner! That's great dedication. Isn't it sad when you realise how addicted to food we are (bearing in mind most of us eat way more than we need). You are doing everything correct. This isn't an exact science though. As I just told omega47, your stool will look different sooner rather than later. I guess it just varies from person to person.

Hi goldenseal. Props for cutting out sugar/dairy; it takes strong willpower. There are alternatives but you want to find something with Lactobacillus casei in it.
Just an update on my progress. I did Dr Natura's parasite and colon cleanse for 30 days. I am now on a 5 day break as recommended and will do another 30 day cleanse in a day or 2. I always seem to break out after I boast about how great my skin is doing, but I will just knock on wood and do it anyway. I can now say that I do not have any pimples on my face! If I turn at a certain light, my skin is not yet totally smooth yet, but I am happy to be pimple free. The old red marks are also fading. I have been using retinA micro, clindagel, and green cream for 3 months now, but it wasn't quite getting me all the way clear until I did the cleanse. I only had 1 small white head before my period this month. It went away in about 2 days. This is very good for me. Especially since the weather is getting cold and dry. (my face is usually worse in the winter).
Along with the cleanse I also stopped eating wheat, have very very little cheese, and eat NO sugar. And of course drink plenty of bottled water. I bought xylitol to substitute for sugar. I even stopped drinking fruit juices. I never drank pop and I wasn't eating meat except for fish even before the cleanse. I have also been taking olive leaf extract, probiotics, and antioxidants with extra zinc everyday.
The only thing that has been strange during this whole cleanse is that I am having less bowel movements since I started doing this. 2 a day instead of 2-3 a day like I was having before. When I start the cleanse again, I think I will take a little less of the fiber mix. I eat a lot of fiber normally and I think it might have been too much.
I would recommend anyone thinking of doing this to give it a try. I am even sleeping better and have more energy.
I just want to post an update on how I am doing.
So I did 2 weeks of EV's regimen. And I can't believe the effects.
I took Activated Charcoal and Psyllium Husk powder mixed together with water. I started out once a day for 3 days, then increased the dosage to twice a day, then eventually to 3 times a day. I also took a probiotic called Primal Defense(from Source of Life). I started taking it once a day, and gradually increased it to 3 times a day as well.

At first, this regimen made my skin quite dry, and I even started to shed. This lasted for a few days. During this period, no new pimples appeared. After ths shedding, my skin started becoming very supple. Right now, I have 2 very tiny spots in the left side of my face, and some scars remaining. I have noticed even much less blackheads in my nose. EVERYTHING is becoming supple, and smoother. It is very unbelievable.

EV, thanks for the great regimen. :)

I am planning to continue with a liver flush sometime this week, and perhaps a parasite cleanse too.
