They're both retinoids, but Taz is stronger. So essentially similar properties but Differin is milder. I use Differin and have been happy with it. Good for cystic hormonal acne. I doubt you'll have a purge with Differin if you've been using Taz since you should have already gone through that phase. If Taz was working but irritating Differin is a good idea---combined with a cleansing/moisturizing routine that will help your sensitive skin (Eucerin Sensitive, Cetaphil, Phisoderm Sensitive, etc). Not so sure that Witch Hazel is a great idea. Stick to a good cleanser/moisturizer and keep the hair oils away from your face.
