Stress and hormones play a large role in getting acne. During times of stress, your body has increased levels of cortisol which play a role in the health of your skin. Acne is sometimes the outter manifestation of the horomonal imbalances usually seen in young individuals (13-25). You are getting the spots in the same area because those areas of the skin are constantly getting reinfected. The question is how? Picking and touching those areas with your fingers and hands will ensure reinfection of acne. Some people are also genetically predisposed to breaking out in certain areas.

The best way to correct this is to avoid reinfection and to start using acne fighting products consistently. I would look into products that contain beta hydroxy acids (salicylic acid) OR alpha hydroxy acids (esp. glycolic acid). BHAs are better at reaching deep down under the surface and entering the pore to dissolve oil and exfoliate the skin. AHAs are good at improving cell surface turnover (exfoliation) but do not go beyond the surface and can not dissolve oil. Never use both an BHA and AHA at the same time.

Good Luck
