Two Weeks. I think you should think DIET. Because it's not a myth.

If I were you I'd go on an extreme low-carb diet. Extreme as in cutting out ALL sugars and simple carbs. No sweets, sodas, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes etc. Not extreme as in that Atkins thing where you don't eat vegetables at all for weeks.

Eat good proteins like salmon and chicken and green vegetables like broccoli and spinach. ( Dr. Perricones 3-day facelift diet involves eating salmon twice a day. You can find that on his website)

Many people have been doing a colon cleanse with good results. See

But after reading through all the posts, (one thread is over 70 pages long), I have come to the conclusion that it is actually the fiber involved in the cleanse that is doing the most good. Especially long term. One poster that specifically said so posted a link to a study that had diabetics taking psyllium husk capsules 30 minutes before meals significantly reducing glucose elevations. So try adding psyllium husk capsules or metamucil. See

I don't think you want to do the cleanse now as it could involve an initial breakout.

Also, add probiotics either in yogurt with active cultures or in capsule form. You probably have a candida imbalance from the antibiotics. You can do a 'cleanse' for that as well, but it's basically a strict low sugar diet and probiotics which you are already doing. Plus a few anti-fungal herbal things like garlic.

And you could try adding anti-androgen supplements. These are things that are helpful for normalizing insulin and androgens--reducing the effects of testosterone. They include chromium, vitamin E, magnesium, zinc, copper, and vitamin B6, to name a few. And herbal supplements like Saw Palmetto and Nettle. Or just get a 'Men's Prostrate Health' supplement. They contain most of these things. I don't know how long it takes for these to take effect though. They might make your skin less oily right off the bat. I've been taking some of these supplements for about a year, and somewhere along the line, my skin got a lot less oily. I don't know when as it took a while to get it through my head that my skin wasn't so oily anymore.

And finally, just in case it helps you, I used to get huge cysts all along my jawline, hairline and temples. That went away when I discovered, from a coworker who got cysts only on her chin, that they were triggered by oranges and orange juice.

Oh, and try the aspirin mask as the other poster said. I don't know what it would really do for cystic acne as I don't get cysts much any more. It is salicylic acid, which clears pores and is a miracle for blackheads and over all acne. But it should also reduce inflamation. I did have some inflamed pimples on my back when I first tried the aspirin mask and it seemed to make them go away faster, but since it was on my back, I couldn't really observe it happening.

Aloe Vera gel is very helpful for reducing inflamation and irritations of all kinds.
