I visited a dermatologist recently and was prescribed Brevoxyl-8 and Tazorac 0.05% gel. My problem areas are between the eyebrows, the nose, and the sides of the nose. My nose is the most oily part of my face and prone to developing a lot of comedones. It usually becomes oily within an hour after washing. It also has a lot of stubborn blackheads that I've tried to do away with using OTC products (specifically, pads and washes designed for blackheads) but always failed. One thing to note is I don't get papules or any of the regular "red" zits that hurt to touch often.

I'm wondering if Brevoxyl and Tazorac will do the trick for me. What are my other options? I haven't gone through with Brevoxyl and Tazorac yet because it'll cost me $180 even with insurance. I'm hesitant because of how the dermatologist analyzed me. It didn't take more than 5 minutes for him to hear me out, look at my face, and prescribe me something. Maybe that's normal, maybe that isn't.
I am going to go ahead and buy the Tazorac but not the Brevoxyl. The brevoxyl is just benzoyl peroxide right? I did not have a lot of luck with BP stuff.

Anyone have anything good to say about Tazorac and blackheads?
