It seems to me that bugs are more attracted to biting my dad than anyone else around him.

Let me explain:

When he goes to the gym, he always has to apply DEET before working out because he would

always get big (1/2 inch in diameter) , red, itchy bug bites on his arms and legs, which

last for about a week . His acquaintances in the gym never got any bug bites.

Yesterday, my dad and I were in the park, and suddenly he just wanted to leave. When we got

out of the park, he explained me that he got several terribly itchy bug bites on his arms.

This morning, he noticed several big (one of them looks like a small golf ball!), red, itchy

bug bites on his arms. I was bitten nearly as much.

How can my dad become less sensitive to bug bites? I just read the web md artical that says

people are sensitive to bug bites because they:
1. Have high concentrations of steroids or cholesterol on their skin surface
2. Produce excess amounts of certain acids, such as uric acid
3. Give off more carbon dioxide

What vitamins, supplements can my dad take to lessen his sensitivity to bug bites? It's

rather cumbersom to keep applying DEET when going to the gym for petes sakes! Or, is there

any dietary changes? Please help.
