I've been on Differin for almost 2 weeks and I do have to say that I'm VERY pleased with the current results. I know it may be too early to really tell, but I am happy.

I never really had bad acne issues---my problems are basically small flesh colored acne bumps and blackheads. I had a baby 7 months ago and started to experience these issues and went to the derm for some help here! :)

He gave me Differin Gel, Clindagel and told me to use cetaphil for washing and moisturizing.

My routine is as follows:

Morning:

Wash with Ivory Soap Lukewarm water, Dry Face Off
Put on a VERY thin layer of Clindagel to affected area
Wait 30 minutes and put on Make-up---Light Moisturizing Tint with SPF 30, mascara, blush, lipstick

Evening:

Wash with Ivory Soap Luke warm water, Dry Face Off
Put on a VERY thin layer of Differin Gel
Wait 30 minutes and follow with Cetaphil Moisturizer--VERY thin layer

So far my face is going through the dry stage. For the most part, my face tends to lean more towards the dry side anyway and Differin and Clindagel are making it a little more dry, howver, it doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather be dry than oily. I recently noticed that I've started to peel a bit this morning, but that's OK. Doesn't bother me. I've gotten so many compliments on my face on how it looks so clear and how it glows. I guess you can say I have started to experience an "initial breakout", but nothing like the horror stories I have read. People can barely tell...and when I do "break out" it dries up immediately by the next day and my face is simply clearer and clearer every day. It's so smooth!! I'm VERY happy with the results---not sure how I will feel say 6 months down the road, but I can say my body/facial chemistry is reacting VERY well to this medication and routine.

My take on this is---differin gel might be suitable for people with very very minor acne issues such as very small flesh colored acne bumps and
blackheads/clogged pores---but nothing moderate to severe. :)
I'll keep everyone posted. :)

PS---my diet and exercise is pretty good and consistent and I do drink 1.5 liters of water everyday. I'm sure this helps too!
