Oily skin
Jul 29, 2003
I'm a teen and I have extremly oily skin and it bothers me alot. It has effected my self esteem and some days I don't even want to leave my house. I can't look people in their face when I talk to them, and I just feel dirty and gross all the time..I don't even want to think about going back to school looking like I do....
I talked to a nurse who said that I'm oily because I over use skin products and that my makeup isn't suitable for my skin (all this is crap - I know it). Oil (and acne to some extent)is hormonal and genetic, right? I shouldn't really matter what you put on your skin. I've heard that B5 works for some people, but I don't want to try it, because there hasn't been any scientific studies made on it, and the long term side effects are not known. I use BP, scrub, aloe vera, clay masks and oil absorbing products, but nothing helps with the oil. I hate wearing make-up, it's disgusting when I have to put powder on the oil to cover the shine. Blotting doesn't help.
Here they won't let you see a doctor unless you have really bad acne, and I don't, I only have blackheads, whiteheads and really oily skin. My skin is really thick and bumpy with huge pores. If I want to see a doctor on my own I have to pay A LOT of money, and I don't have that kind of money. I'm seeing the nurse again in a week. How should I explain my problem so that she doesn't blow me off? sorry that the post got a little long, but I really don't know what to do anymore...I'm so depressed about this...
