Mederma
Feb 20, 2008
I use mederma on pimples and it works wonders. I was introduced to it after a motorcycle accident in 2003 and it worked on my road rash/scars amazingly. I broke my orbital lobe (eye socket) and it helped the bad scar. Well I tried new EXPENSIVE face products and got some crazy cysts and pimples and like a fool picked at then (just can't control myself with that:D) and they are open bleeding etc....I just put a thin coating all over my face. Has anyone ever did this? Is it bad? Well I guess I will find out. But just wondering. My face feels so firm right now...guess this is how it feels when you get botox;). Hopefully won't need that for a long time (31). If I wake up a new glowing beauty I will let you know! Any insight on this?

I'm 31 too, not that it matters :)

How long have you used mederma? I was thinking of trying it on a few pock marks I have leftover from a few years ago- have you had good success using mederma with acne scars?

I've never tried it on an open sort of wound, like a popped, irritated, picked at zit. Every once in a while, if I really do a number on my face, I apply something like neosporin, but not often, because the petrolatum/mineral oil seems to inhibit the skin's breathing and doesn't let the zit dry up. I'm curious to know how it works for you though, since it is different that neosporin.

I have used mederma off and on since 2003 (motorcycle accident) but it wasn't until I broke my face (2006) did I realize it worked wonders on facial skin. It has also helped a bit on old scars. I was mugged and beaten up and had stitches on my eyebrow and didn't ever use anything but cocoa butter on it. Gosh I sure have taken' a beaten but at 31 am still tickin':D. After about 1 or 2 months, using mederma I did notice some difference on the old scarring. Definitely better on new scars/acne though. I don't like neosporin because it is goopy and so thick and definitely keeps it moist not allowing it to heal. The mederma makes a thin protective cover and it still heals underneath (don't know how but it does for me). I use it when I need to wear make-up to...put it on open pimple (very small amount)let it dry for about 5 minutes and then apply my powder foundation. The healing time is amazing doing this. It is expensive but WELL worth it!

I would suggest you do Microdermabrasion for your old acne scars. I get those done every now and again and love them.

Oh and FYI...hehehe...had to take the mederma "mask" off....itched like crazy but just after a couple of hours my skin feels smooth as a baby's bottom;). Just dabbed the 3 buggers again.

I would really suggest giving it a try. Knowing I used it on road rash:blob_fire and sealed and healed that horrible mess I would definitely think it could concur a nasty pimple. ;) .
