I am currently using Tretoinin (same as Retin-A) at night, along with Duac in the morning. I was wondering what cleanser would be helpful to use with this regime. Currently, I am using Cetaphil (for normal to oily skin). I was using the Cetaphil for normal/dry skin, but I noticed that it was leaving my skin greasy ... Hence, the Cetaphil for oily skin has helped to reduce that greasy feeling. Yet, I was hoping for some suggestions. What about Neutrogena Acne Wash or MD Forte Glycolic cleansers?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
az
Hi az,

I use retin a micro and have been since January. I was on the hunt for a miracle cleanser in the beginning of therapy as well.

Basically when using this stuff, you need to cleanse gently. I agree Cetaphil leaves a film. I used it as well but never really loved it. I stopped using all the Cetaphil stuff.

Some choices to explore may be Eucerin hydrating wash in the pump, or Purpose gentle wash...some may say that it's drying, but it was ok for me. Olay foaming face wash was nice as well. All are effective, yet gentle. Avoid stuff for oily or acne prone skins. Let the Retin A do it's job without aggravating an already topically dry skin.

Good luck to you. :)

Hey AZ03! I am on the Retin-A micro and Duac as well. I love it. How is it working for you? My Derm recommended the Cetaphil and I actually like it. I got the one for oily/normal skin. But, if your not happy with that I also was told from my Derm to use Dove for sensitive skin, which I heard was great, but I am happy right now with Cetaphil. Good Luck! ;)
