I tried 3% hydrogen peroxide 3 times a day for 3 days and it seemed to work (reduced redness a bit, although my pimples are still there). I know it is supposed to kill the bacteria that causes acne and I would like to keep using it forever if it is going to help me. The problem is that I read somewhere that while it may be safe (possibly short term use) it is a strong oxidant and that it can damage cells (free radicals form etc.)that can contribute to aging (and possibly; pre-cancerous lesion inside the mouth if used as a gargle over time). After hearing all this stuff on TV about how good antioxidants are good for you( like vitamin E found in skin lotions), it seems like oxidants are potentially bad. I came to this on my own by just reading stuff on hydrogen peroxide on the web. I don't mean to scare anyone, I am just concerned about the long term use of this product and wondered if anyone can help me straighten out the facts. Is 3% hydrogen peroxide safe enough to use on your face everyday?
DONT use it 3 times a day that will totally kill your face just use it at night before ya go to bed I have been using hydrogen peroxide for like the last week and a half and it really helps with redness and my acne keep on it but lower the usage please...your skin will get screwed up if ya keep doing it 3 times a day for long periods
