I tend to disagree with what you are saying.
My own experience is that after having started with b5, my skin is not producing any excess oil anymore and therefore no acne. Ofcourse i still have the ocassional pimple, like most people, but i wouldn't call this acne. So when the skin sebum/oil production is 'normal' again there is no need for any other (topical) medication. In fact, i noticed that using a cleanser or any topical product containing bp or salycid acid only makes things worse as it irritates the skin and stimulates the oil production. I therefore stopped using any topical product and only wash my skin with water next to using b5 with good results.
Ofcourse this does not solve the (hopefully) temporary problem of more acne/whiteheads that many (?) b5 users seem to experience in the beginning, but my feeling is that this is part of the cleaning/healing process your skin needs to go through and that you can only tell if b5 really works after let's say 6 months.
My advice to any b5 user would be: if your skin is not oily anymore after having started with b5, stop using any other topical acne medication as it might only make things worse instead of better.
