Accutane works
Nov 22, 2000
Hi, I stumbled accross this site today and I dediced to share my story and success with accutane.

When I was 15 I got lymes disease (a disease transmitted by the deer tick), part of my treatment was huge doses of antibiotics for 6 months.

Needless to say this did a royal number on me and not long after I began breaking out severely.

I spent the rest of my school days picking which side of the classroom I would sit on by which side of my face was least broke out.

I had no confidence in myself and simply could not make eye contact with anyone.

I have tried pretty much everything, every over the counter treatment I could find, several treatments with "guaranteed satisfication or your money back!" and tetracycline, monocycline and topical perscription creams and cleaners.

They helped somewhat but never eliminated the problem, I went from a terrible outbreak to just a really bad one.

I am now almost 20, and having recently moved to Idaho got a new doctor.

I explained my situation to him and told him I just wanted it gone, I didn't care about side effects.

He perscripted accutane which is one of the treatments I was going to ask about.

I have been on it for 2 months now and I have no acne remaining.

I have experienced dry skin, dry eyes, dry lips, nose bleeds and VERY irritable skin.

My lips no longer bleed but did a lot during the first month of treatment. My nose does not bleed by itself but can be provoked into a bleed pretty easily.

Even shaving irritates my face and any lotion with scents or uv protection causes my face to get a red rash.

Concentrated dish soap has burned my hands (chemical burn).

In spite of all these effects I am very happy with accutane and the results it is giving me.

Hopefully I will never have to take it again after this session.

Just wanted to let you know that there are alternatives to the most commonly known treatments, I would also like to say if you are under 18 really THINK about it before you jump on accutane, there are some side effects that are more serious like accutane affecting your bone development.

I would go back on it anytime.
