This post is primarily directed towards Ryan and PhilLaser, but I welcome input from anyone else who has had experience with microdermabrasion, glycolic acid, or lasers.

Ryan: I responded to your post under my last thread and was wondering if you could tell me more about your experiences with mocrodermabrasion and glycolic acid? Hope to hear back from you soon.

PhilLaser: I was looking at the cosmetic surgery board and one of the messages referred me to your thread with the before and after pictures. I must say it was quite an improvement. Your results looked really good, and I'm glad that everything worked out for you. I do have some questions though. Maybe you would answer these for me:

How much of the improvement was from the laser, and how much was from the microdermabrasion?

Did you ever use accutane? If so, how did this affect your treatment with laser and microderambrasion?

I think there are several types of microdermabrasion (different crystals). Which one did your doctor use with you?

How many treatments do you think it will take to see results?

Do you think that I will need to be picky when choosing a doctor for microdermabrasion or all they all about the same?

How much could I expect to pay in total for treament with microdermabrasion?

Sorry this post is a little long, but I have a lot to think about as I'm deciding what to do. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Oh, one other thing... Maybe it would be better to also communicate over e-mail so that these long messages on the board can be avoided.
i wrote you a novel under your other post. i meant to get to it sooner but i put it off. plenty to read though.

i was also on accutane, which ended like last june. i had to wait about 5 months to get microdermabrasion, and i waited about 4 months after that to get glycolic acid peels. my skin has taken both pretty well so far. and you should definitely be picky about where you choose to get microdermabrasion done at, or anything for that matter. be even more picky with what kind of machine they have as well. it's likely the doctor won't be performing the procedure though.

i wondered about this too... phillaser, which do you think did more for you overall, the pulsed-dye (which by the way isn't really a "laser" in case you might be wondering, hokie, or anyone else for that matter), or the microdermabrasion treatments? do you remember which machine they used on you?
