hi all,
i have a few questions that i hope anyone here can answer (i've searched threads and didn't find what i was looking for)...i apologize for the length but it's necessary...

went to my derm last wednesday (the 21st)...he suggested i try accutane for the cystic acne i have on my chest and back area...i didn't want to go that route yet as i have not tried many other treatments...he prescribed minocycline 50mg twice a day for 1 month (when i go back in a month, we will see if accutane is the next step)...

so i started minocycline immediately...i notice in the past few days that some of the larger pimples are drying up but i'm breaking out on my face more (my face, while not blemish free, was not a major concern) with smaller, red pimples (not cysts)...is this common with minocycline? it's kind of freaking me out as i didn't expect this "worse before better" with an antibiotic...i do notice my chest and back are a bit better but again a few more of the smaller pimples...

he also said i should take motrin with the minocycline as it helps it work better...anyone ever heard of this? i'm a little leery of that because motrin can be quite strong on the stomach (as can an antibiotic) and both together could do harm to my tummy...

and finally (whew!), i have read ALOT on b5 and while i tried it for 2 weeks, i wanted my derm's opinion before i continued...he said he had heard of it's use, didn't know too much about it, and was not against me trying it...lately, i have seen a website (www.coenzyme-a.com) that sells a clear skin image product with b5...anyone have experience with it or know about this product? seems promising...

any replies would be great as i'm a bit depressed over this (i have a meeting on Thursday morning with a client and am hoping some of the breakouts will be better by then - yikes!)

thanks!!
