i was just wondering how people narrow it down to a certain food item. do most just try elimination diets, or get an actual allergy test? i'd like to really get some concrete evidence on what causes it for me...can i get an allergy test for this kind of thing? i remember getting an allergy test when i was little (they put all these little liquid droplets on my arm and pricked the skin underneath with a pin, then bumps formed if i was allergic to whatever it was or not). i'm guessing this can be done for gluten and stuff too?

There are plenty of allergy tests, but my doctor says that even if the results come back positive you may be asymptomatic (not show any symptoms for that food). I tested positive for gluten intolerance, but am finding out with my elimination diets that I probably don't show any symptoms from gluten. An elimination diet is the best way, but it is also very, very tedious, and meticulous and takes tons of will power.
