Hello Kala!

I've had both the glycolic and salicylic acid (BHA) peels. My skin prefers the BHA peels. I've had glycolic peels up to 20% (I think that's what it was.) But I found I had the best results with the Yon-Ka Micro Peel which is basically salicylic acid. I have light to moderate acne and this definitely helped clear it up! It reduced some blotchiness, and improved overall clarity. I really didn't have great results from a glycolic acid peel. An esthetician myself, I would have to agree with what the esthetician told wait before receiving a treatment. Your skin should be somewhat healed and show no signs of redness or sensitivity. If you decide to go with the Yon-Ka Micro Peel, you'll need to find an esthetician that obviously uses Yon-Ka products. They will determine if the product is right for you. And you'll probably need at least one treatment per month to maintain results. Hope this helped!
