Re: Spironolactone
Sep 25, 2002

As far as topicals, I have been on Obagi for over 3 months. I took the very aggressive approach (using tretinoin 0.1% twice a day) and it dug up everything! I mean, it was unbelievable. I was working from home because it was soooo bad. But now, my skin is so soft and I do have a couple trouble spots, I believe due to hormones, so that is why I started Yasmin. If I could get the chin/mouth area cleared up of this hormonal crap that would be great. I just switched from the Retin-A cream to Retin-A micro as of last night to hopefully minimize the peeling i still have around my mouth, and maybe lessen the redness too. I spot treat with Effaclar K which is 1.5% salicyclic acid - great stuff - and use Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 in the morning along with their sunblock if I am going outside. I personally think you should stick to the Retin-A...give the right amount of time, it can really do miracles for the skin. Retin-A cream has comedogenic ingredients in it though...that is another reason why I switched myself to Retin-A micro.
