Hey people, I don't want to be the prophet of doom but I thought I should bring this to your attention and see what you think. I just watched a TV health news segment where they were talking about making sure to only eat well-done eggs because raw ones can contain some disease causing bacteria. Now, for those of us hooked on raw egg mask, should we be concerned about introducing bacteria directly to our skin?
I do not have anything to say about the egg mask because I'm not using it, but I did notice that you live in Boston. I am visiting Boston in July to check out BU and just wanted to know if you enjoy the city. I am in Michigan and have never been to Boston but wanted to check out Boston University. Thanks! Sorry this is WAY off topic!
You know, I was kinda wondering about the safety of raw eggs, too. I mean, they talk about salmonella poisoning from raw eggs, no? When you use the yolk for a mask, there's always some left over therefore bacteria could grow in it if kept. I think to be safe, maybe people should crack a new egg every 2 or 3 days just to have the freshest stuff possible and obviously leave the leftovers in a covered container in the fridge and only use it for the mask (just in case someone wanted to be frugal and use it to cook with). I know that that's what I'm doing just to be on the safe side. Oh, and wash, wash, wash your hands after you're done with the mask. But, of course, if this bacteria you're talking about is there from the start, well, let's hope it's not flesh-eating (sorry, sick joke).

i dont want to do the EGG YOLK mask cause i'm scared of salmonella... i read in my biology book that it is found in uncooked raw eggs... i dunno.. i dont want to add any more bacteria to my skin....
