hey jani,
i began the peel 4000 today. some slight burning for the first 15 minutes or so after application but nothing to worry about. skin is slightly red but nothing real noticeable. worst part of it so far is the smell (like burning coals or something) and trying to apply it evenly throughout the face. the small container isnt a lot to cover the entire face but i guess i managed it. ill try to give an update everyday.

Hello, I have finished peeling finally, so I decided to go ahead and post my results. Overall, on a 1-10 scale, 5 being an average product, I would give the skin culture peel a 7. I will break down each part of the peel and talk about my results a little more in depth.

Removing red marks from past blemishes: 7
It definitely helped a good deal with the marks, but it didn't completely remove them. They are much less noticeable than before, but I was hoping they would be gone completely, since they weren't that bad to begin with.

Controlling acne: 10
During the entire 10 day process I didn't get a single zit. Not even a tiny little white head or anything. I was extremely impressed by that. Thanks to both accutane (2 years ago) and B-5 (Currently) my acne isn't bad at all, in fact, I usually only get one larger zit a month, and just a few small ones, but rarely do I go 10 straight days without getting a single tiny blemish even.

Smoothing out the skin: 8
My skin is definitely much softer and smoother than it was before, with the excpetion of a few scars. My skin looked rough before the peel, but now is much softer in appearance.

Scarring: 3
I was very disappointed with this aspect of the peel. It helped with some of the lighter scars a little bit, but not much. They weren't very deep to begin with, so I was hoping they would be removed completely, but they weren't. And the deeper ones (I have three) weren't helped at all. I was very disappointed by that. I only left the peel on for 90 minutes though. I heard after I finished that you can get better results if you leave it on for two hours. I wish I had known that, but I wanted to follow the instructions carefully so I didn't mess up my skin. Maybe the scarring results would have been better had I left it on for 2 hours. Also, I think this peel would probably work better for women than guys, because guys tend to have thicker skin, so it may not peel, just flake, for guys, where as women may get a thicker "peel."

You might ask how I can give it a 3 for scarring and an 8 for smoothing out the skin. The scarring refers to individual saucer scars I have. I don't have many, 3 larger and maybe 5 that are barely visible only in sunlight. My skin, before the peel, was very rough and not very smooth at all. This, more than the scarring, was my biggest problem. It felt smooth to the touch, but didn't look it. Now it looks very smooth, except for the individual scars, which is why I gave one category an 8 and one a 3.

I went in expecting this peel to be a "miracle" which it certainly wasn't. I was pleased with the results, but it didn't live up to my lofty expectations. I probably shouldn't have gone into this expecting anything, maybe then I would not have been disappointed. Having said that, the results were very good. My skin definitely looks much better than it did before the peel. I am glad that I used it once. I would recommend it to anyone, but would tell them not to expect to be cured of all your skin problems. I don't think that I would do the peel again, however, because of the cost and the fact that I had to take a week off from work. If I were to do it again, I definitely would not take any time off, because I didn't look that bad at all while I was peeling, and my face wasn't even red or irritated. It just looked like I was peeling from a sunburn. I expected the skin to peel off in huge, disgusting chunks, making me look freakish, but it didn't do that. Just flaked off, and it was only one area at a time, so it was even less noticeable. The area around the mouth was the worst, every time I opened my mouth wide to eat, my skin flaked off a lot in that area.

I know this was a long post, but I wanted to give a very in depth analysis of the peel to help anyone who might be thinking about doing it. Hope this helped. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks,
Randy
