hey guys!
all egg yolk users please tell us how your getting on with the masks:
your results?
how much improvement? if any
how long have you been doing it for?
did you apply it for over night or 15 minutes?
thanks
Hey, xKaShyLahx, I've done the egg yolk mask for the past 3 nights. I do it for 15 minutes then rinse off with water. It seems to be calming my skin, which tends to look red and irritated. My pores seem smaller as well. My skin looks the best in the morning. Now, last night, I experimented with leaving some egg yolk on some specific blemishes (I washed off the mask then dabbed a small amount on the blemishes) and I left it on all night. They didn't go away, but seem a little smaller. So, my skin does seem a little better...don't know yet about the longterm benefits, like if it will decrease my breakouts, etc. Have you tried the mask at all?
Hi RAG, nice to hear from you!
sounds like the egg mask is working for u. Im going to try it tonight for 15 minutes but tomorrow im going to try it all night because my moms going down south for afew days...and the last thing i want her to see is me walking around the house with egg on my face LOL..i havent heard anything negative about & i hope it stays that way...keep me posted on how its working...and i'll do the same

anybody else tried it?????
please reply???
Ha, yeah, I know what you mean about walking around with a mask on. I try to do it while my husband is busy and last night I was cleaning up in the kitchen and he was in the living room. He asked me something and I was trying to talk and realized I sounded funny because my skin was tight from the mask. Anyway, if you don't TOTALLY cake it on, it's not that noticeable, just a slight yellow tint so if it's dark no one would really notice.
LOL ok thanks, but i thought caking it on would make it more effective?....i had a brain wave LOL so im going to leave the egg mask on while im having a bath that way no ones going to see me LOL

RAG - less then 5 hours until i do the egg mask thing (its 5:30pm over here) im getting real excited! LOL
Well, I still put a generous amount on but if you kind of rub it in, it's not quite so yellow. The first night I did it, I was really yellow. Yikes! But the past two nights, I rubbed it in more and maybe didn't use quite as much and I'm still seeing results...Good idea doing it while in the bathtub! I've gotta come up with some secret spot where I can sit with egg on my face and not risk being noticed...especially by my 4-year-old who would not hesitate to point out my freakish appearance...LOL!
LOL Thats kids for ya!
the best time to do it is when no one is around or when no ones in the house, what ever you do make sure you lock the door. The bath tubs an ideal place to do it...well aleast it is for me, but i have my doubts because sometimes my mom likes to come in the bathroom will im having a bath or shower...hope she dont do it today she might scream!LOL
It really doesn't look that bad on. The green masks are worse than the egg. I have my teenage daughter doing it with me at night, It has almost completely cleared her chin up, just after two nights. My other two children didn't even notice the first night I had it on. I just put it on and walk around the house or just sit and watch T.V. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO TRIES IT.
Well, I am excited about the mask. I read about it yesterday on this board and I decided to try it this morning. I'm usually the last one to leave the house so it was perfect (btw, how weird is it that we're so shy about treating acne - I mean, if it was a wound on the leg, noone would hesitate to put egg on it if it could help - I guess it's all the judgement we get about acne). Anyway, to get back to my story, I tried it today. When I walked in the office, the receptionist's first remark was "hey, your face looks sooo good today!" How incredible was that! Needless to say, I'm hooked.
I've been doing it for about two nights now, and it's working okay. Except for this morning when I woke up, I broke out a little, but that's because I slept really late last night.

You can tell your mom that you bought it at a store. It's really not that gross, if it's a thin layer, like they said, it's just a tinge yellow and wouldn't be something to laugh about.

Also, I do mine after my shower- I bring a bowl with the yolk inside, and then dab it on my face, do yoga stretches for 15 minutes (after I towel up) and wash it off and wash the bowl.
HEY GUYS!
just thought i'd let you know that i just tried the 'EGG MASK' ahhh! what a tight feeling, u guys could of warned me? anyways i'd rather have that tight feeling than have acne...i done what Erin said left it on for 15 minutes...i kinda caked it on HE HE ...hey did you guys have any egg left over? coz i did...

im going to have an early night tonight and i'll let you guys know the results in the morning! if any

oh yeh my skin felt smooth when i washed it off
thanks Erin
*bump - for anyone who wants to add to it!
Ha, I assumed you'd figure that it was tight as most masks have that effect. Anyway, that's why I was saying I was talking funny to my hubby...cuz my skin was so tight and I didn't want to crack the mask or anything. I kind of like how it feels. And, man, if it works, it's all worth it. Anyone hear from Erin who originally posted the remedy? I should check the original thread but was wondering how she's doing since she's probably been on it the longest...

Hey RAG!! Tonight is my 6th night and all I really have left are very light red marks and very small pimples. If you read what I put in the original thread I was talking about how your pimples will come to the surface first, and then once those are gone, there shouldn't be any new ones forming I have been doing more research on the yolk and I am still finding very good things about it. I am so excited that I have found something that works
GOOD LUCK RAG!

Erin, were your red marks very dark or were they just a little red? I have darker, more brownish type of marks. Did you have that or very minor red marks?

Okay I tried it yesterday ! WOW my skin felt & looked sooooo much better after just one time. I am going to use it again today. The redness in chin was dimished... My forehead looked clearer and less oily all thought the day( I also take 1gm b5) I have a small dicoloration on my cheek that does look better too! I will keep on using the mask for a week to see if I get any more results. I think everyone should atleast give this a try for a few days.
hey everyone
yesterday was my first night of doing the egg yolk mask and this morning my face felt really soft & smooth, but nothings changed with my pimples no new ones.. which is good ...but i didnt expect miracles overnight...im going to continue doing this nearly every night...i hope this hopes with my complexion i want it more even toned before i go on HOLIDAY!

eeek. never apply a mask to dirty skin. it's like leaving a chunk of puppy poo on the carpet and spraying carpet cleaner on top of it...not to sound too disgusting.

wash your face with a cleanser or your normal facial soap (something mild, in my opinion) and then apply the yolk. that's what you normally do with masks. then rinse it off with lukewarm or cool water after about 10-20 minutes. i'm personally only doing it at night, but i'm sure you could do it in the morning and in the evening.

I never pop them, it leads to scarring.

hey all....i just tried the yolk for the 2nd time like 5 minutes ago. i did notice pimples coming to the surface, but i figured its part of the process right? ya but i think it will start looking better. i'm gonna keep it up for like a week til i see my derm and see how it looks!hopefully it will improve, my skin feels good but it hasnt changed much pimple-wise...i'll keep ya posted tho
Hey to Everyone!! I have used to egg yolk mask for a couple days in a.m.& p.m. My skin does feel alot softer & smoother. I have oily skin,( taking supplements & B5 have helped alot to control the oiliness,) But it did seem like even though the supp's help this also helped. My skin didn't feel oily until alot later in the day on the days I used the mask. I hope everyone gives this a try .. Try it for a few days, and see what you think.. I think it's Great! best to all! kjack
will this mask work with retin a micro? i mean... i won't use them at the same time but during my medication of retin a micro, can i use it?
i hear its worked for most ppl the first time they use it....but ive used it 3 times and it looks worse to me. should i stop? i think im going to
I wouldn't use the egg yolk mask if you are using the retin-a.

I was on the Differin gel for 2 months and it made a mess out of my face so I quit using it. My face actually hurt while I was on it. So then I heard about the egg mask and I tried it. I have been doing the mask for 3 days and I love it. I have had NO NEW zits in 3 days. It helped bring one to a head that was just driving me crazy and now it is almost gone. It is also fading old marks from past zits.
you should also try blended oatmeal w/ the egg yolk togeather. i heard it help to
hey all the yolk users dont forget to post ur experiences!!
i used the egg yolk mask for 2 days and here's what happened to me...

my oily skin is just as oily, if not, it is even oilier.

i have had this big underlying cyst on the apple of my cheek which was just visible but not inflamed. yet after using the mask, a huge zit formed under that cyst and now it's inflamed and my cheek looks bruised up to my eye.
envirogirl, I read that if you have oily skin you should use the egg white and if you have dry skin you should use the egg yolk.

I have been using the egg yolk (I have dry skin)for 5 nights and have had no new zits. The only thing I wish I could get rid of now are these red marks left on my face from the differin gel that I was using. That differin gel just ruined my face.

ok, i've read this a few times from other people on this board, but where did you guys get this information? I have oily skin and i've been using the egg yolk. i can't say for sure whether or not my skin is as oily or oilier than before (but i don't think it is quite as bad).

I just want to make sure i'm not screwing up my face. that would suck.
Just a question for all egg yolk users, has anyone tried scambling a whole egg rather than use just the yolk or white? My mother uses egg white and her skin is superb, so i'd like to know whether it'd be even more benefitical than just the yolk
thanks
envirogirl: I used the egg yolk for three days and now i have a huge zit that looks like a bruise right up to my eye!! I've stopped using the yolk right now i guess i'll wait till the redness goes away and the zit die down. But my skin on the rest of my face looks good.
Hi! i was wondering if the mask is ok for oily shin or not please let me know. thanks!
I remember when everyone was going crazy over B5 and I also remember when everyone was going crazy over the lemon juice thing, now this whole egg thing in. The good part about it is that its actually promising! The success rate is tremendous and I love the way my skin feels after using it. I still want to know more about the difference between egg whites and egg yolk and why people use the different parts.
Vik: hey we seem to be having the same result. i stopped the use of egg yolk, but i tried the egg white which is a lot better...especially if u have oily skin. however, my huge *** pimple on my cheek...it's still there, but going down. and i didn't even pop it although i really really want to.
envirogirl: My cyst has gone down, and the redness has diminished. I just left it and didnt put anything on it. Felt sooooooooooooooo self conscious until the redness decreased.
I wanted to ask you about the egg white: I know its good for dry skin but does ur face feel as good as when you used the yolk (besides the zits)? Also do you have red marks and if so has the white helped fade those? Thnx
envirogirl: The redness in my zit has gone down by a lot, i simply left it alone. I wanted to ask you a couple of things about the egg white: Does it help with the redness and is it as good as the yolk (besides the new zits)? Also does the white help with the red marks (if you have any that is)? thnx
is the yolk ok to use wit Benzoyl Peroxide ?
I would think it would be perfectly fine to use the BP along with the egg yolk.
I too and having some great success with the egg mask. If you are worried about long term benefits of it, it will affect your acne problems in the future. So, I suggest one night you go to bed with Egg Yolk mask and another night with a mask of Soap and Sugar into a clayish like substance

It's been about a week and a half now that I've been using the egg yolk mask, and it's helped so much.

I'm gettin fewer breakouts, my red marks are continuing to improve, and my face is a lot less oily.

I find it works better if I use it as soon as I crack the egg open. I also don't whisk it with anything, which might also help. I usually leave it on for an hour or so...
VIK: just to clarify, i have oily skin. the egg white feels better on my skin then the yolk. i don't think i used the egg on my face long enough to see any changes in red marks from cystic scars. but if u'r talking about blemishes, the dark healing skin after small pimples, yes i think it helps remove the discolouration
i was wondering..can u use both the white and yellow together?
This is in response to whom wrote the question above.

Yes you can use the egg white and the yolk together. Actually i recommend this. Combinding the two tightens the pore and will drastically change the size of the pimple prone into a smaller and will go away in a few days

Do I have to wash my face before applying the mask? I have very sensitive skin and prefer only washing once a day, anymore leaves my skin tight and irritated. Does anyone else just bust open the egg and put it right on there face without washing first?
You really should wash your face before applying the mask. Just use a really gentle liquid cleanser. You don't have to wash your face with anything but water in the mornings.
Hey all you egg yolk users! I read all of your messages and I am very curious about this egg thing. I think I am going to try it tonight, but I have some questions. I use Pro-activ(the cleanser, toner, and repairing lotion) and I was wondering if this egg yolk thing is okay to use after I've washed my face with the cleanser, put on the toner, and rubbed on the lotion and let it dry? I've been using pro-activ for about a month and my pimples and such have shrunk, and my face is less red, but my face still isn't clear. You all seem to be getting good results with this, so I think I'll try it. And I'm really confused about this "oily skin uses the white, and the dry skin should use the yolk" is that true? I have oily skin, so should I use the white or what??? I'd appreciate a reply. Thanks!
Hey, Orlando's Girl. If I recall from when I used to use Proactiv, they have a mask. What I would do if I were you, is to do the egg mask in the same step as you'd do the Proactiv mask (I'm not saying do both masks, just to replace the Proactiv one with the egg one). i.e. If they say to wash, then do the mask THEN do the toner and lotion...do it in that order. I personally have started the Sage products and I wash with the Shampoo, then do the mask, then do all the other things (you figure you wash off the mask so if you had the toner and lotion, etc. on that would get washed off and therefore be ineffective)
Thanks RAG, for your reply! I'm going to try the mask tonight, and I'll do what you said. Thanks again!

Ok, After reading about all you brave people trying out this egg yolk mask deal , I told my BF about it and he came home last night with a "special just for me" carton of eggs.So., here I am with my face caked in an inch thick of egg yolk. Its starting to feel just a little tingly and also a little itchy.Has anyone else experienced that before? I just looked at my gooey face and am wondering how much fun I'm going to have getting this stuff off.
Im Pretty sure The white is for oily skin and the yolk is for dry!
hope im not mixed up! LaUrEn
EGG YOLK MASK COMPLETE DISASTER!!!!!!! TODAY,not only are the zits I had yesterday BIGGER but they are also REDDER ! Aaaaaaand , to make matters WORSE I now have more than 20 NEW ZITS !! My face is now worse than it has ever been.I gave up drinking many many months ago but it is going to take a bottle of wine and some good tunes to get myself to chill out.I am soo freakin #$^&*@!*&^[email protected]#*!!!!!!!!
oh god, that really sucks.

since you said that your face felt tingly and itchy with the yolk on, it's highly likely that you're allergic to the yolk.

sorry, dude. good luck.
Well. that figures.I don't think there is ANYTHING on this ENTIRE earth that I'm NOT allergic too. Oh well.Got nothin to lose anyway.
