If you found removing breads helpful there might be a strong indication that your acne may be related to yeast. But then again, if you continued to eat sweets, -- even though there is no yeast, -- sugar is the culprit and "feeds" the yeasty-beasty inside. Any and all forms of fermented anything (including saurkraut, pickles, beer, breads) along with sugars, would show a marked improvement.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I do believe there is a definite correlation between food and acne. I'm not suggesting fried foods are bad or bread is bad, it's just that for each individual person, there may be food-related triggers, either because that person has a problem with bacteria, an allergy or a sensitivity, or certain foods are just an irritant,...but I do believe that we have some control over this.
