Many different things can cause acne and hormonal imbalance is one of them. Another thing which you may find helpful is food it has not been scientifically proven but early studies show that certain foods can result in excess skin oil that blocks your pores. Genetics is another possible cause for acne and unfortunately we don't have much control with that. Stress is another possible cause for acne.
you could try the following and see if they help
1. Use Water-Based Skin Care Products
2. Protect Your Skin From The Rays Of Sunlight
3. Do Not Put Harsh Chemicals In Your Hair - these products can cause your pores to get blocked and be harsh on your face when rinsing your hair.
4. If you have long hair which is oily tie it up at night to keep it off your face, as the oil from your hair can get on your face.
5. Eating nutritious foods whole fruits, grains, and vegetables will help promote healthy skin.
6. Drink plenty of water as this keeps our body well hydrated.
7. Using a Mild astringent does help prevent bacteria from entering your pores, an example would be Rose Water.
