I was dx over 2 years ago as either PCOS or Insulin Resistant, even though IR is the Precursor to PCOS, among other hormonal and metabolic disorders. I took BC and Spiro (200mg) for 3 years and that combo didn't clear me ( around 50 - 70%), didn't stop my breakout cycle (8- 9 months of my worst... (31 replies)
... For those interested, yes there is a genetic component to developing acne, in that certain people will be more "at risk", but there has yet to be specific acne gene. Just like there probably isn't a specific coughing gene, sneezing gene, when we get sick, right? Another example would be the small pox or chicken pox that's presented as skin lesions that were a direct result... (54 replies)
... ot to mention allll the other tests they would run. However to get dx as Insulin Resistance you would get the GTT test but, if you want to know if you have high androgen levels you would get a Female Panel run too. ... (6 replies)
