... I tried both of them. Retin A I found dried the pimples but usually leaves a big dark scar which I hate. Tazorac on the other hand, peeled my skin sooooooooooooooooooo much for about 2wks. ... I would try using St Ives medicated acne scrub with salcylic acid in it. It is similar to proactiv, but not as strong and less expensive. If your skin is sensistive you may only be able to use this 1 time a day. It helped me when I was getting the big cyst type acne.
