... I work at a camp in the summer and we go swimming in chlorinated pools quite often. I've asked my dermatologist about the effects of the chlorine and she told me that it shouldn't really have any effect as long as you wash your face afterwards (and your entire body for that matter). If you go in it every day it will clear you up probably, but not one day, it will just make your face real tight, so if u have dry skin, u might wanna bring moisturizer for when ur all done or when it's dry. be careful, if you're gonna put it on your forehead as well BEFORE going on water rides, it may get wet and drip down to your eyes and it'll sting. Along with floride from the tap water, tap water contains a variety of poisons, such as chlorine, asbestos, pesticides, copper and mercury & lead to name a few....so that is why I won't drink it,,,I will get my floride treatments from my dentist twice a year instead!! ... It's a combination of chlorine and sun. Both are very drying. Unfortunately, they are also both bad for you and your skin. The chlorine is harsh and the sun causes cancer. Also, it will dry it out and eventually the oilyness will come back perhaps stronger than before. ... (3 replies)

... Neca, You bring up some good points, but you must realize that we don't live in THAT sterile of a society. I don't use antibiotic cleansers or hand gels of any sort, unlike some people (but most?). I don't detoxify through the use of supplements etc and most people don't either.
