... the johnsmith food list is good. just wanted to add my two cents. i also stick with LOW GLYCEMIC index food. certain "natural" foods cause spike in blood sugar. in particular, pototoes and carrots. these should be avoided/eaten in moderation. eat lots of FRESH (not canned or frozen) vegetables, leafy greens, beans/legumes, nuts and seeds (raw, not roasted/salted). ...
