... Yes, you can build up an anti-bacterial resistance, unfortunately. Sorry to hear that it did not work out for you, but keep trying and best of luck -- we all need different solutions. (29 replies)
... i suggest holding off on the B5...a normal intake is 4 to 7 MILLIgrams a day, and even though B5 is a water soluble vitamin, vitamin overdosing can be serious. what all products have you tried? if you haven't already, maybe you could try an oral antibiotic (doxycycline, minocycline). body acne (like that of the back and chest) is supposedly harder to treat than facial... ... care anymore. My acne is considered mild to moderate but I've had it for so long that it's become alot more than that mentally. Plus anti biotic medications only work until your body becomes resistant, after that you'll have to find another medication and another, until eventually they find a real cure or until you die. ... ... I just wanted to start this topic so that everyone that is or has been on a prescribed medication can post the side effects or any results. I personally have been on Accutane, Tetracycline, Minocycline, Monodox, Benzamycin, Cleocin, and Differin. None of which have done a DARN thing! I have no intention on EVER going back to a dermatologist. I have had better results... (2 replies)
... I took 100mg of mino once a day, didn't see results until about 3 months, by the 6 month mark, I didn't have the slighest hint of a pimple anywhere on me.. clear, and I stopped at 2 years, 3 pimpes have come back and I feel my skin is a little oily so I'm back on for 6 months at once a day, by then I should be out of the "acne" stage of my life, so says the doctor (I'm 20) ..... ... The differin works good but be patient with it, they say it takes 12 weeks to see full results. Also, ive been on mino for over a year, and as long as i stay on it, it works very well. Stay on those 2 medications and use them RELIGOUSLY they work. (5 replies)

... my derm put me on it for 2 months, but I went off of it because I'm trying b5. I don't think it's good to take both at the same time. Anyway, the antibiotic is only a temporary fix so I decided that I rather go with the B5 since you can take it for a long amount of time with little to no side effects. I've heard that it takes several months for the mino to even work. I know it... (4 replies)

... And another thing, I was on antibiotics for 10 years before I took Accutane. I had to take higher and higher doses of them until they stopped working...and when I went off them my face broke out horribly. I finally went on Accutane for 5.5 months and that was IT. No more $100 bottles of Minocycline. Just smooth skin. (41 replies)
... Okay, so I am 17 years old, and my derm just (like yesterday) put me on 50 mg 2X a day with retin a micro topical treatment. My skin is not HORRIBLE, but the blemishes leave red marks and I have horrible self esteem, so I'm hoping this will work. I've been reading some posts and its worrying me, because they say mino works at first, then when you go off, it comes back... (6 replies)
