... I just wanted to write stating that I happen to be VERY grateful to my Derm. He's sympathic, available within 24 hrs and most importantly....aggressive against acne. I visted him 2 months ago for cystic acne on my chin (at 33 yrs old it popped up out of nowhere from stress) and have been taking Minocycline along with Differin & Clindoxly cream. My face is almost clear except... (9 replies)

Tough Acne Problem
May 18, 2007
... I've been an acne sufferer for about 2 or 3 years now. Mostly I just resorted to washing my face with mild soap and using Clearasil. That treatment did virtually nothing, so I decided to see a dermatologist. He prescribed me to 3 things, minocycline, Differin gel (to use at night), and Klaron lotion (to use in the morning). I used these three regularly for a period of... (1 replies)

... I forgot to mention that any of the cycline drugs e.g. tetracycline, doxycycline etc. can cause outbreaks of thrush if taken for an extended period of time. (3 replies)
... Candida (thrush) lives in the mouth but is controlled by other bacteria. It also lives in the vagina. If your girlfriend had an outbreak of yeast infection you could definately get thrush from oral sex. An indication of oral thrush is a white substance on the tongue a that will not brush off while brushing your teeth. If this is the case, see your doctor for medication to... (3 replies)

... Any of u guys done any real research on acne and whats causin it? Apparently its a hormonal imbalance aswell as conjestion of toxins in the body, mainly the blood and lymph fluid. Basical the kidneys and liver can't cope with all the excess toxins and so these can be eliminated through the skin, this could be linked to the greaseyness of my skin at times. Usually, the areas I... (8 replies)
... I was put on Minocyclin twice so far by my GP. Each time it worked OK for about 2months. Yeah I felt alittle dizzy aswell for the 1st two weeks when takin it. Life was good when it worked. Sadly after it began to show signs of being 'ineffective' the spots came back. So, guys I hope it works well for u better then it did for me! (8 replies)
... Differen did nothing for me when I tried it, its like it had no effect. I liked the benzamycin, it was also good because you had to keep it in the fridge so it was kinda cool when I put it on. I tried to get that stuff again but from a GP doc but he only gave me some generic brand, which I dont think worked as well. (8 replies)
... hey there. I had a horrible problem with cystic acne. My whole jawline was flooded with them. Some 1 on top of another if you can beleive it. I couldnt even turn my head. I was put on accutane and it pushed all the infection out so fast that i swelled up all the time and have gone through about 35+ injections. I still have small bumps where a cyst was, yet the skin looks... (1 replies)
... Hi i was on minocyline a few yrs ago. It worked in a limited fashion but in the end i was put on a course of accutane. The results were amazing, the side effects while taking accutane were pretty bad but i feel it was worth it in the end. Try to stay positive and keep searching for that light at the end of the tunnel. (8 replies)
... This is the antibiotic that my derm prescribed to me 9 years ago for my acne I was dealing with in highschool, it definately helped me with my acne then, but I also used the topical benzamycin with it so dont know which one worked the best. (8 replies)

... This question has been asked many times before in some form or another... but I was hoping to get a little more feedback... I'm sure many people have been suffering from acne from a very young age (age 10 for me) and have tried every product out there, you name it... all the meds, w/e... so now many of us have some serious scaring going on...
