... Since you have only been on minocycle for 4 days, your body is still getting used to it. I encourage you to give it a couple more days or even a week. When I started minocycline I was extremely dizzy and off-balance. I could not get up fast or turn corners walking without swaying. I must have looked drunk it was so bad! But I promise you, that for me, it subsided... (2 replies)
... I was taking minocycline for ~2 years to control my acne. There is no question that this was a lifesaver for me. I have been completely off the antibiotic for about 3 months now. I recently noticed that eating sugar causes me to break out. I never noticed this before or during my antibiotic use. On Valentine's Day I received a bunch of chocolate and for about a week I... ... Very easy, when your acne is gone. Dont use the meds and BP topicals. Minocycline is very good. I use Doxycycline which is made by the same company. The Doxy did wonders for clearing my acne. I did get redmarks when the acne went away. I used the Juice Organics Cleanser. This is a great cleanser. It feels really nice on the face and uses the best ingredients. (1 replies)

... In the past, I've been on countless medications (accutane, zithromax, doxycycline, minocycline, erythromycin) for acne...along with more prescriptions for face cleaners and retin-a creams as well. The accutane was really the only one that was effective. However, a few months ago I started receiving Smoothbeam Laser treatments. The laser gives basically the same results of... (7 replies)
... but without the effects on the rest of your body. It also helps with acne scars as well. It has worked WONDERFULLY for me. Before smoothbeam laser I was taking minocycline for my acne along with tazorac gel and all sorts of cleansers...now I wash my face with cetaphil and use cetaphil moisturizer... ... (17 replies)
... You're welcome. Let me explain what I meant when I said Finacea "will not clear up your acne in the same way that traditional acne meds do": There's usually a two-step approach to preventing future breakouts. First, eliminate bacteria that clogs your pores and causes you to break out. I love benzoyl peroxide for this. Taking antibiotics orally (as you're doing with... (5 replies)
... I was previously on minocycline which is marketed as minomycin here in Aus which is probably why you didnt know what it was. I didnt get very good results from it so we'll see how doxy goes. ... (5 replies)
... m 15 and have been struggling with acne for about 3 years now. It's not bad, but just aweful for myself to look at. I've tried what seems like everything. I'm on Minocycline at the moment, and have been for about half a year, and it's not clearing completely. ... (4 replies)
... well I have tried erythromycin, tetracycline, minocycline, birth control pills, retin a, metrogel, clindagel, duac, not too mention all the over the counter meds....benzoyl peroxide, sulphur, etc...well I have been on spironolactone for 1 year now and my skin is nearly perfect. I do have spots from scarring, but nothing big. I am a 32 year old female, acne got worse with each... (7 replies)
... Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the Solodyn but I know my dermatologist said it is a newer form of the minocycline since it is time released. Because of the time release characteristic, it is only necessary to take it once a day instead of twice. ... (3 replies)
... Just curious...why don't you just wear sunscreen while you're in Cancun and continue using the Duac? I've been using retin-a cream at night and take minocycline (both meds increase sun sensitivity). I've never had a problem with the sun-- even in Maui for 2 weeks, as long as I wore sunscreen. Neutrogena makes a great sheer sunscreen called Ultra Dry Sheer Sunscreen (it even... (3 replies)
... hi latayy ...can you tell me more about the time released minocycline? is this a new pill form antibiotic??? i used to be on mino and loved my results... (3 replies)
... I have the .04 dose of Retin-A Micro in the pump and I think the consistency feels the same. Of course I am experiencing the flakiness but I've only been on it every night for a little over a month. My face is really clear though. I'm also using Duac and Solodyn (time-released Minocycline). I really like the pump- so much cleaner! (3 replies)
... I was taking Minocyline 100mg (2x) a day for about 2 years. About 3 months ago I dropped to 100mg (1x) a day, and then every other day, and now I'm basically stopped it. I weaned myself very slowly. Succesfully, as of now (fingers crossed!) I've always been oily (gotta love those Italian genes ;) ), but recently I've noticed that I have been producing much more oil... (2 replies)
Bare Minerals?
Jan 6, 2007
... Hi, I just found your post and have to add my thoughts on Bare Minerals because I've been using it since Sept 06. First, my acne lifeline, if you will: I have had terrible, terrible skin since the 5th grade. Been on Accutane twice, minocycline, doxycycline, retin-A, benzaclin, bcp, every over the counter cream and treatment you can name. I still get breakouts, but nothing... (10 replies)
... Another doc actually gave me minocycline once, but i hate taking things twice a day so i went with Doxy. However atleast i have a backup. ... (10 replies)
... Hmmm...50 mg once a day seems very low. When I was prescribed Doxy, I took 100 mg twice a day. Maybe your doc will up your dosage for you if you explain that you're not getting the good results that you got at first. You could also try Minocycline...that's what I'm on now & I like it A LOT better than Doxy. (10 replies)

... hi i have been taking this tablet for 6 months it is an antibiotic will this make my immune system weak? (1 replies)
... My derm told me to mix Duac and Retin-A Micro (.04%) when putting them on every night or every other night. Has anyone done this? It sounds like it would be overload harshness on my face but she acted like the Duac would dilute the Retin-A Micro so it would actually be less harsh and cause less flakiness since that was my main complaint about RAM in the past. She also put me... (1 replies)
... It's possible because antibiotics can cause a candida imbalance and acne can be one of the symptoms. You might try probiotics too. I took 50 mgs of whatever the form of zinc comes in the typical multi or Walgreen's brands vitamins along with Saw Palmetto and my skin got alot less oily and I no longer got acne on my face. Then I cut back on sugars and my skin is clear. ... (6 replies)
