... Hi All, I'll start by sayin in high school I had acne pretty much as bad as it gets... tried minocycline, tetracycline, and plenty of other meds, differin gel, salicylic acid products (specifically Arbonne), herbal treatments, carley's clear and smooth, but the only thing that cleared me up a good ammount was when I finally tried Proactiv. I've been using if for 3 years... (3 replies)
... I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. First of all, Doryx (doxycycline) will make you nauseas if you don't take it with food. so take it with food! Second of all, the dots on your face are not a reaction. It's called Petechiae. It's broken blood vessels caused by violent vomiting. You were not getting enough oxygen to that part of your face while you were throwing... (9 replies)

... Wellll, I just got back from the endocrinologist. My pelvic ultrasound looked normal, and all my lab values were normal except my thryoid (TSH) was slightly high. Soooo, I was prescribed Thyroid medication + Spironolactone (200 mg- 8 25 mg pills!) and Vaniqa cream. And for my acne, I will continue to take Apri (generic Desogen bc pills), Minocycline (I'm down to 100 mg once... (11 replies)

... K it's been a week since i started taking 100mg, using the benzoyl wash, and clindamycin gel. I can tell a difference in my face and my back. ... Well, I got up the nerve to ask my doctor about the facial hair. She immediately refered me to an endocrinologist (apppintment is on July 7) and scheduled a pelvic ultrasound to rule out ovarian masses (appointment is on July 6). So, hopefully I will have an answer of some sort by the end of this week! I'll let you guys know what I find out. (11 replies)
... Momma - I am so happy for you!!! Thank you for this post because this is a very viable solution for many girls/women. Our derm just prescribed yasmin and spiro (25 mg to be added in one month if Yasmin doesn't work) for my daughter. He is being conservative. I suppose if the Yasmin works for her then that would be good on its own. She has also tried all of those things... (24 replies)

Fortunately I found something that worked (see my thread on minocycline), it is so nice to be in touch with the world again! Hope you find something that works... (7 replies)
