... Soap is definately not the way to go. First of all, it is alkaline, human skin is slightly acidic, and bacteria thrive in alkaline conditions. Second of all, alkaline products cause surface dehydration, which traps oil underneath the skin, causing BREAKOUTS -loads of closed comedones (whiteheads) and open comedones (blackheads) and papules and pustules. ... For sure I can anser part of #4 for you. You definitely need to stick with ONE main acne fighting topical ingredient. I have found benzoyl peroxide to be the most effective. Unfortunatly, it does nothing for blackheads, but of course, they are more stubborn and have a longer life cycle that whiteheads.
