... Hi, my dermatologist recently prescribed Minocycline & spiro to help with acne, along with a topical medication called Ziana. I've been using these 3 for nearly a month. I'm also on my 3rd month of yasmin, prescribed separately by my ob/gyn for birth control, irregular periods and acne. ... well...it sounds like you're doing everything right! I asked about facewashing, because i've heard that overwashing can cause oil. If you do get Spiro...it will DEFINITELY help with oil. My skin has always been normal/dry and Spiro has made it even dryer :( Great for someone with oily skin though. I used to have very oily hair-- by the end of the day, it looked flat and... I never use to wear make-up up until around 1 month ago and make-up does some help, but after a few hours, whoosh oily skin comes through. ... A didn't do much for me so I told my doctor that I wanted something else. She prescribed minocycline. It worked but I hated the side effects. She recommended Yasmin to me. I was a little apprehensive because I was on ortho tricyclen on two different occasions and I it did not work for me. ... (4 replies)
