Hi everyone,

My husband has add. He was referred for diagnosis by the psychologist that we were seeing at the time for couple's counseling. He tried Wellbutrin for accompanying depression as well as Ritalin, but quit pretty quickly saying that he didn't like how they made him feel. That was about 5 years ago. He has expressed some interest in working with a doctor to find something that would work for him now, however we currently do not have insurance, so that will have to come first, of course.

That aside, my real question has to do with sex. I was recently talking with the same counselor (husband will no longer attend for couple's counseling) on the topic and mentioned that he has trouble reaching orgasm, and usually only does so if I don't do much so as not to distract. He even mentioned once after giving up that he couldn't concentrate. My counselor said that this can be a common problem for individuals with add. This was a completely new idea to me -- thought sex was a pretty gripping attention-grabber, and often feel as if I am inadequate in being able to please him. I have had trouble finding any info on this topic in what I read, even though information on adult add has been becoming more available.

Anyone have any feedback?

Thanks,

Loopy
