I have been on Adderall for about 7 months. I have had tremendous success using this drug for my ADD. I just recently moved to a different state. I have been looking for a new doctor here in town. I have run out of meds and the soonest appointment I can get is in 2 months. I am currently experiencing a lot of depression and feel extremely tired all of the time. I wish I had prepared better to where I could have tapered off the meds instead of stopping cold turkey. I feel terribly alone :( , especially in a new town and with no doctor yet. Can anyone share their experience of withdrawals from Adderall with me. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/input. Thanks

I was put on Adderall for a disorder called dysautonomia...not anythinglike ADD, but I decided to stop taking it when it was taken off the market in Canada for causing heart-related deaths.
I didn't have any withdraw symptoms when I stopped taking Adderall, but I was weaned off slowly.

Thanks for responding. Do you mind me asking how long you were on Adderall and what was your dosage? And how long did it take to wean yourself, was it over the course of a couple of days or was it more like weeks?
I have been on Adderall XR 30 mg twice a day for almost a year.... I have not tried to stop taking them but sometimes only take one- daily. I couldnt imagine going without them being I am a more than full time student...and adhd... I know that when I need one and dont have one I take a stacker 2, which does help. I hope that you can get to some help soon - if worst came to worst I would go to the local hospital and take a printout of your prescriptions from your old pharmacy and explain your situation. I couldnt honestly imagine living without them or not being able to be weaned from taking them- they are powerful drugs, for sure!
Hope you can get the help you need soon!!

Danielle2459-Thanks for your input. I have started to feel a little better, but the first week off of my meds was horrible! I am hoping that I will hear something back from the doctor's office I spoke with. I called them last Thursday and told them my situation and they said they would "try" to fit me in before 2 months. So please keep your fingers crossed for me. Your idea about bringing my old scripts in not a bad one. As well as, I have the orginal letter written from the doctor who tested me and confirmed my ADD. So maybe if worse does come to worse, I could try that. Thanks again for your suggestion I wouldn't have even thought to do that. But what am I saying, of course I wouldn't have, I am a total scatterbrain right now!
I've been on Aderall in the past for about 3 months and thanks to a idiot in my office, who decided to take my meds (kind enough to leave me one dose at least), I was off them for about 2 weeks before I got them replaced (which was a pain). I didn't notice anything unusual. Doc said should be any major withdrawls.

Could it possibly be due to your move, a major life change in my book, most definately (especially with add) could send me to a down state.
Yes, moving to state where you hardly no anyone is definitely difficult! Especially, when you need to find a whole new set of doctors and you can't get an appointment for anything because you are a "new" patient. I am sure I will eventually adjust, but right now it is definitely hard not having the appropriate meds to help me through this rough patch.
