My husband is in the Army and he has ADHD. It isn't a problem unless he doesn't have his meds. He somewhat of a desk job, string at a computer all day so it is kind of a big deal without his meds. He has been in 4 years now and on adderall for most of it until recently when he switched back to concerta(he was taking back in school) It is difficult to explain every single UI why he pops hot for amphetamines, especially when he switches duty stations, but they eventually get used to it and stop asking so many questions. All in all its not bad, if your hubby is on a sub for long periods of time it might be difficult to get meds, especially if they are stimulants. The military is very cautious about the amount they will distribute at any given time. the only time they gave my husband more than a month RX is when we are PCS'ing. It can work if he is honest about it, and lets people know ahead of a drug test he is on the meds(with documentation) it will be perfectly fine.
