Adult ADD in women
Apr 3, 2007
Hello,

I am a 29 years old woman and currently in my first year in a 2 year MBA program. I was just diagnosed with ADD. My brother is also in graduate school and was struggling with what he thought was depression and his doctor diagnosed his ADD. He suggested that I investigate as I have been struggling with depression since college. I was a really good student in high school and somehow I never guessed that some of my issues in focusing were ADD related. I am now in my first year of a two year rigorous business school program and have been facing depression and anxiety. I thought I had seasonal affective disorder and have blamed depression for my issues. I am in shock by this diagnosis and will be following up with my doctor to consider treatments. I would love to hear about anyone who was in graduate school when they were diagnosed and how medications can help or what other coping mechanisms would be useful. I am hoping the meds will help me focus, study better, and get organizing, something I have struggled with.

Thanks for any information you can provide.
