Hi Aurora_,

I have taken the same prescription for many years and it will take a few days for your body to adjust to it. I would highly recommend taking food with Adderall, but I would avoid taking it with high doses of vitamin C since it is said to reduce the effectiveness. For example, I wouldn't take a vitamin C tablet at the same time, nor would I take it with a glass of orange juice. Take your vitamin C or orange juice later in the day if possible.
It is something that will start to kick in within approximately 20 minutes. You are taking a long acting prescription so it will release throughout the day. I would also recommend taking it as soon as you wake up in the morning because it is something that could effect you being able to go to sleep at night if taken too late, say late morning or early afternoon. It will last approximately 12 hours or so. The 15 mg that you are taking is a strong prescription so that is why I suggest you take it as early as possible. If you start to feel anxious in the evenings and can't sleep, the prescription Ritalin LA is good and doesn't cause as many mood changes as Adderall or Dexadrine.
2. it is normal to not feel the effects the first day. Your body will need a small amount of time to adjust. I hope this helps! Oh, by the aware of any mood changes that you may experience and tell you Dr. if you experience any. Sometimes it takes a few different prescriptions to find the right one for you. :)
