Adderall tolerance?
Apr 30, 2008
My pdoc swears up and down that you cannot build up a tolerance to adderall. I keep telling her that regardless of what she says, I feel like my 30mgXR just isn't cutting it for me anymore.
Is 30mg XR too much? I have been wanting to add an IR capsule in the mornings and possibly at noon, does anyone else do this? If you do use adderall, what dosage do you find works for you?
*I'm a 24 year old college graduate who has been on adderall for 4 years*
Yes, you can definitely build up a tolerance for it, the same way people get tolerant to caffeine. Going off it for a few days is the best way to reverse the tolerance.

I take 2.5 mg in the morning. If I took an XR, I would not sleep at all. (No, I'm not normal, most adults need 10 times that much).

I've never become tolerant because I've never been able to stand the side effects enough to take it except on the days when I really need to do something that simply will not be possible without it.
