I recently was diagnosed with ADD, prescribed with a 10mg dose of adderall 3 times a day. Noticed right away that the dosing was a little too much for me. I took a half of a pill to start the day and the same for the other 2 doses. It took a few days to get used to it but after that I was responding quite well. The only thing I noticed was by the end of the day I was wiped out. So I saw my doctor and told him what was happening. He then prescribed concerta as a 30 day trial. I began taking it and noticed that I wasn't feeling the same as I was with the Adderall. I had a normal schedule of taking 2 mg of Ativan approx. 45 minutes before I took my adderall and I was good. I still could drink my 1 cup of coffee without getting the jitters. I didn't really notice my appetite changing with the adderall. Usually about 3 hours after I took my first dose, I was starving and could eat normally. But now with the concerta everything was different. I still take the 2mg of Ativan, and then take concerta about 6 am. I still like to have my 1 cup of coffee in the morning but found that it would immediately throw me into a panic attack. And with concerta, there is no appetite at all. I called my doctor to see about getting the Adderall refilled about 3 days before the Adderall was completely gone. My doctor refused and is making me wait until I can get back into the office for a visit. So now I'm stuck with this medication that doesn't seem to be helping, I'm constantly tired throughout the day, and my symptoms are coming back. I realize that these types of drugs are heavily regulated but what can I do for relief until I can get back into the office for a visit?
There is no way you can get the adderall sooner sorry, sadly it is one of the most abused prescription drugs out there and it makes it extremely hard to get a prescription when you actually need it.. But I wanted to let you know that you are not alone I had an absolutely terrible experience with concerta. If you have trouble getting your doctor to prescribe adderall again once you get to see him then you can look online and see reviews of concerta and bring them to you doctor. Some doctors believe that it works great for ADD and do not know that for some people it is horrible.
Luckily there was a cancellation and I got in yesterday, she put me back on Adderall.
