I've been in your shoes exactly. I fought a long time before I had to accept the fact Taylor needed more help than behavior adjustments. He said and still does, the same thing your child is saying. Taylor is presently on Adderall..30 mgs. It does help him to focus while at school. I've also put him in the Section 504 (Federal Program against discrimation) which requires the school to do various things. My Ex and I are very involved with the school. Taylor is very bright but one day...all F's...the next..all 100's. That's the focus thing but he seems more calm. Just be careful and research the drugs carefully. Monitor your child and note any differences..good and bad. We had a bad experience with Concerta and with Depikote. Not all meds work the same with all kids. It's up to us parents to watch our kids while on the drugs. I really know how you feel. I 'm still hesitate and worry about him taking meds but I want to help him all I can.
